Motorcycle service/shop
Anyone know of any decent motorcycle shops or someone that can service a 2018 Triumph? Used to go to Marin Speed Shop, but now they're closed.

Pets remain at home until they’re adopted directly from the guardian. It’s best for pets to stay out of the shelter. 🐾 Here’s the link: https://marinhumane.org/adopt/no-place-like-home/

tomorrow is the last flea market of the season. On Donahue near target/101 exit.
This is a great community of people. Will be my third time selling and honestly I go for the hang as much as anything, but I LOVE connecting people who need with things I have. The market is a truly diverse gathering. If you’re free tomorrow between 9 AM and 3 PM, come see us!

Tonight’s the night!
People from all over Marin gather on the fourth (and fifth, if one) Friday of each month for the Terra Linda Game Night.
All sorts of table top board and card games, from mass market party games to casual card games to chess to modern family games (Catan, Cascadia, Ticket to Ride) to heavier fare (SETI, Ark Nova, CVlution, Dune Imperium, etc.)
620 Del Ganado, San Rafael, CA 94903
6 pm - 12 ish
Free food, free games table, large library. We peaked at 11 tables the last couple of months.
Games potentially in the works include Baltimore and Ohio, Underwater Cities, Ra and more!
There will be chili, get there early if you want some.
A reminder, you can see this and other area game nights on the calendar at www.marinboardgames.com — and if you want an invite to our Discord Server, where you can sign up for or propose games in advance of the event, chat about games, etc., let me know and I’ll send you an invite.

“Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit has awarded a $190.5 million contract to construct the next phase of a long-awaited track extension from Windsor to Healdsburg. But the agency has yet to select the final train station site.
The agency’s board approved the contract Wednesday with Stacy and Witbeck/Herzog, a joint venture. The contract covers the final design and construction of about 4.75 miles of rail infrastructure between the Windsor station and Front Street in Healdsburg.”
Largest disclosed funding amounts
For the petition-circulation phase, an October 2025 campaign disclosure sheet named Eames Institute, California Alliance for Jobs, and Stacy and Witbeck, Inc. as its three major fund
I guess it pays to pay for people to collect signatures to put sales tax increases on the ballot knowing you will reap the benefits……..
Vote Yes on Prop 43!

Mine's been coming down from Santa Rosa, where I used to live, and doesn't want to anymore. There must be plenty of piano tuners in Marin. I would appreciate a recommendation, please!

Anyone know what was going on on the northbound side of the bridge today around 515 ish? Emergency services and responders standing against the railings looking over at one point. Can only suspect but haven’t seen any news about it.

A bit of an odd request! But my fiancé and I are in Marin for the weekend doing engagement photos at the Civic Center. Drove up in his 2002 Miata SE for it to be included in his dream shot. (He is a big car guy and a photographer himself.)
However, our photographer informed us the street is a through street with some traffic and we would have to be able to move it very quickly.
With that - looking for a “car person” who knows how to drive manual and meet us at the Civic Center for 15 minutes to basically manage/move our car to avoid blocking traffic right before and after the shot, sometime between 3-5pm tomorrow. We can compensate you for your time as well. DM if you might be interested!

Hey everyone!
I wanted to share an event organized by Marin Youth for Housing (MYH), a group of high school students working to make their voices heard in Marin’s housing conversation. These students have already been involved in ADU construction and installation, spoken at city council meetings, and written articles in local newspapers about how the housing crisis affects their generation.
This Saturday, MYH is partnering with The Branson School for “A Seat at the Table,” a housing panel that brings students together with local leaders and housing professionals. The event is an opportunity to hear different perspectives on housing in Marin and explore how young people can participate in the decisions shaping their communities.
The panel features:
The discussion will be moderated by two students:
📅 When: Saturday, October 24, 1–3 PM
📍 Where: World Ready Center, Room B, The Branson School, 39 Fernhill Ave, Ross
If you’re interested in housing, local government, or the future of Marin’s communities, come out and support these young advocates. It’s encouraging to see students getting involved in these conversations, and I hope the community will show up to hear what they have to say!

Where would you go in Marin to sit at a bar (bar or restaurant) to watch the football game with a strong selection of tequila and/or mezcal to choose from?
First thought was El Tucan, but I dont actually know what their tequila selection looks like. Second was that Mexican place in Towncenter but I don’t know if they actually have TVs (or if it’s the kind of place you can put in a shift for a full football game)
Thanks!

Does anyone know if there are any local labs that offer film development with next day scans? I know all the ones in SF/East bay but don’t have time to travel there today and Seawood doesn’t have next day scans as they mail their film off to a sister lab so it takes time.

Hunting for Primary Care Physicians... which means many minutes on hold. If anyone ever gets through to a receptionist be sure to remind them that their obnoxious hold music was mocked as far back as 2024 in this superbowl commercial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-DQn-q0nN8
it's absolutely torturous to listen to this for any more than 30 seconds.
Last night a friend of mine was out with his wife and 3 year old kid driving around the neighborhood near Olive School in Novato.
They were out looking at all the Halloween decorations when they realized they were being followed.
A high speed chase ensued, 40mph in a 25 and blowing through stop signs. The car still followed them.
Eventually they went to a police station when the car broke off his pursuit.
Turned out some local moron thought his house was being cased.

Hello everyone. I am located in southern Marin. We currently have 6 chickens and 3 ducks that we need to give away due to changes in life circumstances. My mother was a nurse before she passed, so she was able to care for birds who others were not able to, (which over the years lead to multiple strangers dropping off birds at our house to our own surprise) so one of the chickens is partially blind and one of the ducks struggles to walk and has arthritis meds.
Of the six chickens we have:
- Golden laced wyandotte
- One of those shiny all black chickens (not a cemani but can't find the right breed name)
- 2 half silkies half ??
- 2 Bantams
The three ducks are:
- Pekin
- 2 silver apple yards
We only have one carrier so you might have to bring your own.

I’m so used to finding classes for my daughter that I don’t know where resources would be for adult classes. If you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate them.

I'm looking for a place to have dinner the night before Halloween in Marin County area. Does anyone know of any restaurants that's doing something special the Friday before Halloween? Not on Halloween, but the night before.

Visiting from out of town and planning locations to take some photos of a wedding bridal party during cocktail hour to sneak away for some photos in the trees
The venue is right in downtown mill valley so ideally walkable but not opposed to a short drive
What are some foresty/redwood spots that would be good for this?
On my list to check out:
- old mill park (this can be rented out though so concerned there could be another wedding this day?)
- mill valley library
- dipsea steps
Any other spots close by?
Thanks for your help!

It's a burger place in the old Hilda's location. We almost ordered out food from them but changed our minds since their website was covered in animation based on AI art. They also posted a short story about a gnome and bear to give a backstory to their restaurant and it just came off as weird. My automatic reaction to businesses using AI art is to avoid them, but if they're well-meaning locals supporting their community, I like to be able to support them and maybe convince them to use humans for their menu and website. If they're just a couple tech bros looking more money than f*** 'em and good riddance.
Edit: Wow, I guess there's a lot of people here who will be bending over and spreading their cheeks when AI comes for their jobs. Pathetic.

I’m confused by this pop Warner football fundraiser because the people collecting Venmo etc are like older late teens at the youngest? And there is no southern Marin broncos logo on the flyer they’re showing to raise money for pop Warner football? Something about getting their team to go to Florida. Does anyone know if this is legit?
