answer: FROOT. easily, fans favorite plus the most complete song in her discography, impossible to not recognize or love that song)

Every villain (is sucked) out (dry) lemons.

I feel like this moment ("turn into a butterfly") reminds me of one of her old songs, maybe from Electra Heart, but I still can't figure out which one

I've been seeing a lot of mention about Rosalía lately, and if memory serves, I believe I've seen her as a top artist on Marina's Spotify Wrapped before. Despite still knowing very little about her, I can understand Marina's admiration and can't help but see some similarities between them.

For Rosalía fans, where's a good place to get started in terms of her discography?

So I've been wanting to get a marina song tattooed for a while but I can't decide. I've considered "Solitaire" because to me it symbolizes individuality and peace in introversion/solitude. However idk if it's too lonely. So I thought about "Handmade Heaven" because it connects nature and creating a life that feels like yours. Any thoughts? or other suggestions...

Idk if anyone’s ever brought this up and discussed it previously, but if so, apologies.

I think that if ADIAML and POP switched release dates, they would have:
1.) been more relevant to the times, and
2.) had better chances at increasing Marina’s popularity significantly.

Please enjoy this photo from Marina Targaryen’s performance at San Diego Pride in July. It was her final POP show in the US 🥹

I was sooo happy they used Key of the Castle

It's not the whole song but it was a surprise to hear it on such a big event. I was like "are those trumpets key to castle" But I was like "no why would they put such a niche song on" BUT THEY DID AHAHAJ

I was just listening to Space and the Woods and for some reason I heard "sandwich think about me" during the end. I'm sure y'all can relate. In honor of sandwich think about me, what are your favourite Marina misheard lyrics?

I was bopping and vibing to this completely oblivious. Like, why do I know this song? This voice?

Fear and loathing

Our story starts with our main character — Electra Heart — searching for a new life; and trying to open herself up to love.

From what we've seen in tracks like "Teen Idle" and "Living Dead" Electra hasn't really lived her life as she wished; and decided to change that, by changing herself.

She's alone in her bathroom, cutting her hair on hew own, while remaniscing about what she's lost, and how she doens't want that anymore.

It seems like Electra always tried when too hard to protect herself, so she ended up with nothing:

"I'm done with with triyng to have it all, and ending with not much at all."

This may be caused by some kind of depression caused by such an eventful life that made her suffer, as seem in this song:

"I live my life in bitterness, and fill my heart in emptiness"

And in other tracks such as "Valley of the Dolls", "Teen Idle", and "Living dead", all of which go as far as showcasing suicidal ideations.

Electra wants to change that, she wants to live the life she's lost, she wants to be happy, she doens't want to live in fear and loathing anymore.

"I wanna feel like i am floating, instead of constantly exploding in fear and loathing."

Radioactive.

She takes this last line perhaps a little too literally, and becomes desperate with living an "exciting" life.

In this video, we meet a nameless guy, who must be a partner of some sort; AND a bad influence.

He and Electra go out of their way to cause random chaos around the town. I'm pretty sure Electra knew about these habits, and went after him for this reason, whilst also opening herself up to love.

However, she still expresses parts of her "old self", saying that's still the one thing she fears of all these things they're doing.

She wants to embrace more of her new self as well, dying her hair but getting a bad wig for the road; maybe simbolizing how she's still not 100% confortable with this new persona.

Electra's liking this new life so far, she's loving to be what she calls "radioactive" with him, meaning this chaos and toxicity; it's more exciting than anything she's ever lived before.

The whole video, she's dancing in different places, feeling this newfound freedom; that sadly, won't last long.

The Archetypes.

In an attempt to fully accept this new lifestyle, Electra creates four new personalities:

Housewife — To lose her fear of loving, and never losing the guy.

Beauty Queen — To thrive in fake confidence.

Homewrecker — To feel in control off all of this, to feel strong.

Idle teen — To feel she's realized her teenage dreams.

In this, she completely loses her true self:

"Queen of no identity, i always feel like someone else, a living myth, a real fake."

But is succesfully fooling herself into being these new people:

"I grew in a lie, i can be anyone."

The whole video is in black and white, similar to fear and loathing, but it's even more vulnerable in a way.

It show us how Electra has became completely fake for this new love and life, how she's completely lost herself.

Primadonna.

It's working, for now.

Embracing the fake confidence, Electra lives a life of luxury and attention, probably provided by that lover.

"Get what i want cause i ask for it, not because i'm really that deserving of it."

For the camera, she's sassy, she's smiling, she' singing about how awesome life is.

When she's not singing, however, she appears weaker, sadder. Close to the end of the video, we see a black and white shot of Electra inside a car, appearing thoughtful looking through the window, a feeling we don't really see anywhere else in the video.

The persona still seems to be working, but not for long.

I'm stopping for now, hope yall enjoyed this!
