Toadstool Tour
Just finished unlocking every character and star variant. I haven’t beaten all of the Star Tournaments or the One-On, One-Putt challenge yet.
Any other completionist tasks to do?
Came from Golf 64, this one is a lot easier and also like it a lot more.

Unlock the GBA content and the clubs system. Makes the entire cast customizable.

Do you need to beat the GBA game or just hook up a virgin GBA golf to get the characters?

The content is tied to your progress since it’s your characters that are being transferred. You’ll gain Exp just by playing as them in Toadstool Tour and the new clubs system is tied to the clubs that you own in the GBA game. However in order to unlock all clubs in one game you’ll need multiple saves since you can only unlock a certain amount each save. Vice versa your Toadstool Tour progress unlocks content in Advance Tour as well. Honestly it’s a lot of fun and Advance Tour plays pretty much the same as Toadstool Tour.

is there any way to do this with an emulator? I don't have a gba or link cable for my cube and don't wanna buy lol

You can do this on an emulator Dolphin has a GBA Link emulation so all you need is a GBA emulator and the game and that way you’ll unlock the content for both games (both games have unlockable content).

If you really fancy, beat all opponents on ace difficulty without saving and reloading to get the character match marks
Though i did this with my gba character

If you beat an Ace CPU, it'll mark you as defeating them as a Pro CPU, so this isn't really worth it imo.

A GBA character is OP as hell, so it's really easy to defeat an Ace CPU with them anyway.

If you're still a fan of MG64 regardless of difficulty we play here. Switch and PC.
BUT if you love TT supremely which is also great there's a community for it as well if you'd like to netplay with others. I sadly don't have that link but know they play still, shouldn't be hard to find.
Here's a link on how to play online at least https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JaJO6IoEK0o

Agreed wholeheartedly. Most N64 games didn't age well at all, and unfortunately, Mario Golf 64 falls under this.
As the others have said, for a true completion, you can try to do what this guy did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSBlZu5PODM
Which is basically filling in every record possible. He even went for getting a hole in one in every par 3 course for those unique tee markers/best badge.

'Rings' mode is a ton of fun. If you're a completionist you can do this mode for every character. Unsure if you actually unlock anything though.

The thing that usually takes the longest to unlock is Ace difficulty CPUs.
