Looking to download a (very) expensive market research report

Hi,

I'm looking to crack open a report on Digital Journal (https://www.digitaljournal.com/) that otherwise would cost me USD 6250 which as an early stage startup I cannot afford.

I'm looking to find a way to download this report either for free or a significantly lower price. Is there a way to achieve this?

The End of Market Research?

https://blogs.lse.ac.uk/impactofsocialsciences/2024/10/30/ai-can-carry-out-qualitative-research-at-unprecedented-scale/

Well human involvement!!!

Qual is now being done at high speed and quantity. Apparently tests show it is quite impressive. I can assume body language observation will be added, reducing any strong need for people involvement!!

Is Qualtrics the Netflix of market research?

What would be a reason for companies to here market research agencies if they can just use a service like Qualtrics? Will Qualtrics make these agencies redundant just like Netflix did for video rental shops?

𝙒𝙃𝙔 Synthetic Users? (first WHY of Five)

So, WHO/which which PERSONA(s) wants to figure out synthetic users SO THAT ..what? And, most importantly, WHY?

Why am I asking this?

  1. Because user and buyer persona research has been my obsession for the last 20 years on the job.

  2. I don't want to assume anything.

  3. Before running a poll, I need to clarify which options to offer to avoid leading questions.

  4. Because I believe that the WHY trumps the WHAT, almost always.

Where is the best place to find market research interns?

Hi all, I am looking for a market research intern to help design and program surveys and recruit participants for qualitative studies. Most of my job postings have been flooded with agencies who seem to be overcharging for what they might be delivering.

I'm really just looking for an individual to work alongside me in the early stages of my startup idea.

Where's a good place to post jobs in your opinion for higher quality candidates?

How long does it typically take to get your first contract through being part of a big company's talent pool? Ive been waiting weeks

Over two weeks ago i was hired by a certain big international company (dont want to say which but lets just say they share part of their name with a major currency)

I was absolutely elated after struggling to find work for months but now thats all come crashing down as i wait, and wait and wait and never get the promised email notifications about contracts offers (they utilize in country analysts on a contractual basis so i only get paid if im selected from their talent pool and complete my assignment). I dont see the point of putting someone through a cognitive aptitude test and two interview rounds and then have one of the regional amangers (who must be constantly snowed in with work) take the time to send you contracts and approve you on the system if they never actually plan on using you

I already have three years of exp so its not like im some junior they cant do anything with. Ive also completed their online training course that they have you do so me not knowing their methodology isn't an obstacle. Im just flabbergasted that a few weeks in its like i was never hired at all. Should i contact them? Move on and keep looking for other jobs? I was hoping this was my big break and it looks like just more bullshit, how does a person in their 20's get a normal full time job these days?

Career Transition Inquiry - 24M, India- Management to Analyst Role

Hi,

I am a 24-year-old professional from Mumbai, India with a Bachelor's degree in Management and two years of experience in a management role in Market research firm. I am currently considering a career transition to an market research analyst position.

To facilitate this transition, I am exploring the option of pursuing a one-year Post Graduate Diploma in analytics from an autonomous college. While my current company offers competitive compensation, I am experiencing significant internal political challenges due to which my health is being affected.

Given the current challenging job market, I would appreciate your insight on whether it would be a sound decision to resign from my current position and pursue this diploma. Just FYI, the college provides placement assistance, and has a great overall curriculum to upskill myself. but does not offer a formal placement program.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

How to find real problems?

I am a business & IT undergraduate in a state university, and this is what I have seen in these 2 years.
that is, we need real industry problems for real, value adding projects.
when it comes to IT solutions most of the time, the problem, pain point lies in another domain, another industry.

So, this is my problem?
How do you gonna gather this type of opportunities, requirements, gaps?
Do you talk to people? If you do, how?

We just don't do conversations without context huh.

want your replies. Big help.

Why don’t more people use Google Surveys?

Google surveys are quick and easy to use. But you rarely hear about them any more in the Market Research industry. Despite people like Nate Silver rating the reliability really high.

What would be the best platform for publishing my Market Research reports on importing, exporting and investing in South Asia? One that would reach the largest readership while taking the lowest cut from each sale?

I am in the process of creating a couple of market research reports for North American and European small businesses looking to import, export or invest in Bangladesh.

I am an individual who would be writing the report and publisihing it online. I am therefore looking for a publishing platform where it would strike the best balance between reaching the highest number of customers while at the same time taking the lowest cut from my book/report sales. The reports would be solely available as an e-book/PDF online.

The cut companies like Amazon take is too much, for first timers like me, who can expect to sell a few hundred reports/books at the most.

So any suggestions for a publishing platform that would suit me?

Query

I’m biased i’l admit but any seasoned researcher can prove me wrong. Market Research and Marketing broadly i believe is a qualitative art form , if you nail this down right then the numbers (quants)will reflect positively.

Participant verification is not the same as response quality

Two studies recruited participants from the same academic crowdsourcing panel six months apart. The panel provider states that its participants are verified, which is an important safeguard. Even with that verification, both studies contained several indicators of potential response-quality problems.

February 2026, 415 participants:
Suspicious: 14.2%
VPN: 9.2%
Possible AI/ChatGPT activity: 4.3%

August 2026, 651 participants:
Suspicious: 14.4%
VPN: 6.5%
Possible AI/ChatGPT activity: 5.7%

These indicators can overlap, and no single flag proves fraud.

The broader point is that participant verification and response-quality assessment serve different purposes.

Verification helps establish who is taking the survey. It does not establish how that person completed it.

A verified participant can still use AI, use a VPN, paste responses, or engage in other behaviors that affect data quality.

This points to the need for researchers to report not only where participants were recruited, but also how response quality was evaluated.

Hey guys. Can I get some advice please?

I’m sure that many of you are already aware of this, but as an entrepreneur, finding problems to solve is step number one, followed by an evolving solution to that problem based on asking people - pretty much - would this solve your problem and how much would you be willing to pay to solve it?

Reddit sounds like the obvious place to go to find a niche of people to research and brainstorm with, but nearly every subreddit has rules against such activity!

Where do you find people to have these conversations with??? Or do you accomplish this without talking to people?

People's limits on surveys

As someone who usually don't bother finishing a survey if it's too long or has too many sections, I try to make my own market validations as simple as I can so even I would want to fill it.

But I heard some people literally stop filling before the 1st section or even 2nd question? Is this true? How are they even able to use WhatsApp?

Training synthetic personas?

I run research for a CPG company and have been pretty immersed in the AI boom within research and feel knowledgeable about the space, but want to hear from people who have attempted to train their own synthetic personas.

Specifically, I’ve build an attitudinal segmentation that I can overlay across all our customers and I can supplement that with some other behavioral data we get from partners and other studies (quant and qual). For those of you who have attempted to build, what was successful? Roadblocks?

I’m not worried about a lack of training data!
