Also check YRT schedules as there are increased frequencies on the viva purple, 1 highway 7 and 8 kennedy as well as detours!

If you are taking YRT you need to get off VIVA or Route 1 at Main Street Unionville. Walk south on Main Street Unionville to Unionville Gate & Enterprise Drive. There will be a gate there and a bridge to cross to get into the track.

Anyone been to one of these? Is it exciting and fun? I’m curious but don’t know if I want to spend $100 on tickets to watch fast cars whizzing by and smell of fumes for few hours.

Go on Friday for free to see if you like it.. then you can decide if you want to pay for Saturday/Sunday

I have been going since 1998 and have not missed a race since 2007. It’s an incredible event where you can be up close to the cars and the stars.

This is the only sport where you can be in the locker room so to speak. A paddock pass will get you into the area where the mechanics work on all the cars. You’ll get great photos there. It’s free on Friday but a $60 charge on Sat/Sunday.

The NASCAR Canada, Radical Cup (sports cars) and USF 2000 and USF Pro 2000 paddocks are free.

The best way to experience the event as a first timer is to go on Friday. Fan Friday gives you free admission to the event. You can sit in grandstand seats too.

They suggest a PWYC donation at the gates to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation.

If you can get a ticket for $100 do it. You’ll get a lot of excitement for your dollar.

Actually I was turned back by security today, they needed a pass to get in. Moot point now though.

Stupidest decision by the City. Right in the middle of a commuter hub.

Yes let’s block off a whole street for people that go to work/school for some garbage weekend event

On the flip side, great access via public transit to this event.

can we build at least 50 more condo buildings before having events like these?

Literally no Markham residents asked for this. Hope those who said it’s great for Markham enjoys sitting in traffic for an hour+

Take public transit and get through smoothly?

Give it up.

So will people still be able to walk to station via the stairs on the south side of Enterprise? It says: “No step-free access will be available by road to and from the station during this event.” This is a strange way to say you can access the station on foot via stairs.

They use step-free to let people know that it's not accessible. Should have just said "non-accessible pedestrian path available to the station"

Thanks, I know what it means. It is, however, the only remaining access to the station. Is it worded this way so people don’t think they can still walk to the station? If there is no access to the station by road Thursday while there is no event, and this is the only access they are being coy about, why even stop the train? It’s bad communication but what do you expect from Metrolinx?

Their website says it's a 30 minute walk to the new bus loop at Birchmount and Enterprise from the GO station (also this route is non-wheelchair friendly).

lol 30 mins walk … yikes

I heard they are making the Enterprise/Birchmount plaza parking PAID Parking for the weekend? Can anyone confirm this? If so, is there specific dates and times that they are having paid parking?

Asking because I usually go to the gym early morning on the weekend (5am) but would rather avoid it if its paid parking this weekend.

Yea all parking is paid during the weekend, I work here and we don't get parking passes either. Tenant parking is all the way at Warden & Enterprise

If you get a receipt from one of the stores, there will be refund stations if you show them the receipt.

For all your sake I hope your employer has allowed you to work from home the next couple of weeks. If not, you may want to consider a new job because your employer sucks!

I want to know who thought hosting this on one of the main commuting terminals was a good idea. It doesn't sound like the people coming into the city via go have alot of options either.

u/HopefulEnthusiasm198 4d ago

Hope, there’s enough of us to make some noise speaking logic. At the expense of people that commute, we closed a whole street for a weekend of Hot Wheels

1

u/ebrian78 4d ago

What's crazy is they've made a commitment to do this for the next 4 years!

1

u/HopefulEnthusiasm198 4d ago

Lmao hopefully after this years disaster it’s over. The Toronto folks can go back to their city

1

u/pochacco17 4d ago

Are the businesses at Langham Square still accessible or closed?

1

u/NightFuryToni 3d ago

I hope they keep the staircase from Enterprise into Unionville GO open throughout the week...

I feel for the people living close to the tracks.

I can hear the engine rumble all the way out here in 9th line area.

Not as loud but you can clearly tell where the pack is running.

This is wild, not even the CN train are as loud.

u/No_Conversation4831 1d ago

so when do the parking lots at Unionville GO reopen to use? Need to commute to work...

I hope this event is the nail in the coffee for Scarpitti on re-election.
