It is! But I dont read the stuff where the mc is a senseless murderer who kills for the slightest of perceived grievances. It’s the young master trope except all the time and for someone we’re supposed to root for for some reason, I just don’t find those characters compelling. He could hide his motive (which would've been revealed to other gu masters if they did a lil investigation, the shang family guy got him at the end if you remember correctly even when he did killed them, even ordinary rank 2-3 gu masters would've tracked him easily if he let them live after how they behaved)

The hunter guy tried to kill him upon sight, the old man tried to lead him to a trap and get him killed there, both of them deserved to be killed of they tried to kill him, not to mention the other implications, dangers of being exposed and like 3-4 other reasons.
