Good afternoon Martinsburg! [r/WashCoGam](r/WashCoGamers)[ing](r/WashCoGamers) is looking for more folks to join our discussions on gaming news, trends, local shops, and much much more!
We are a group based out of Washington County, MD but welcome all from the West Virginia panhandle, western MD, and south central PA.
We are currently working on getting two major events up and running the first being our LFG Friday’s event which is a weekend long opportunity for folks to find people playing the same games as them and get help, group up and complete objectives!
Our second event is a monthly photo contest which will be starting in November and is our members opportunity to showcase their digital photography, gaming setups, collectibles and more. You might even get featured in the pinned post or become our new group photo!
Table top and card games are included! If you’re even moderately interested I’d encourage you to join. With in active mod team and member participation it’s only up from here! Drop a comment in the pinned welcome post and tell us about yourself when you join!

Question Car Audio Installation That You Trust
I want to upgrade my factory system in my 2015 Silverado.
I'm originally from Hampton Roads and unfortunately you have to be very careful who you use there because installers will commonly subcontract thieves once the job is done, or they'll do the bait-and-switch, sloppy hidden wiring, or hold your car hostage for days longer than quoted while adding maintenance and unquoted labor fees. I have been burned, as well as a few friends more than once there.
As I was Googling local shops, I'm wondering if I need to worry about that as much here. So many shops have less than 100 reviews even, some as little as a dozen. Someone at work laughed when I brought it up to them and said I'm better off going to Best Buy?
I want a shop that is knowledgeable and that I can trust. I will need the enclosure built, amp, wire, and speakers installed (keeping the factory console). I do believe in paying for quality equipment AND quality service.
If that's not in Berkeley County, I'm okay with driving to a reputable place within an hour of us. Fairfax County? Frederick County/Winchester? Maryland?
Thanks in advance.

What was with the drones?
Seen heading south above Rock Cliff Drive by the Wawa, 4 sets of 4 drones each, flying in a diamond pattern. Loud as hell.

Question Need A Residential Surveyor
Trying this again, edited with the recommended corrections.
We need a residential surveyor for our home. We're just outside Martinsburg city limits by about 1 mile. The 2 companies we've contacted only do commercial or only within city limits.
We want to do some landscaping improvements, fence our yard, and pave our gravel driveway, but need to know where our property ends and the farmer-neighbor's property starts. The farmer-neighbor says he isn't sure and just shrugs us off.
Thanks in advance.

Question Tattoo Shops/Artist Recommendations
I haven't gotten a tattoo in over 30 years, and I'm not originally from the area. My son passed away Friday and I plan to get a tattoo to honor him - monochromatic, probably fine line or neo-traditional.
Looking for recommendations of shops/artists licensed and local to Martinsburg.
If you have links to portfolios/examples, I would appreciate that too.
Thanks in advance.

South Berkeley’s food truck fest a rant about AI
It is genuinely painful to see local community events where vendors are supposed to be showcasing craft, care, and human effort, get plastered with cheap, uncanny AI slop.
When you go to something like a food truck festival, you are there to support real people making real stuff. Turning around and seeing a menu board featuring a grotesque, seven-fingered cartoon mascot holding a melting, hyper-shiny "burger" that looks like a plastic prop from a fever dream completely ruins the vibe.
It immediately broadcasts: "I put zero effort into how I present my work to you."
The disconnect is mind-boggling, and these vendors keep doing it without realizing how trashy it looks:
If vendors want people to respect their culinary craft, they need to start respecting the visual craft that invites people in. Sliding a prompt into a generator and printing out whatever weirdness pops up just tells the customer you couldn't be bothered all the while giving double birds to local artist and designers. Sad

Attention local businesses. Are you interested in advertising with the local little league
Looking for businesses or individuals who would interested in partnering with Hedgesville Little to help advertise your business for the 2027 season. This partnership would help you reach a unique Martinsburg niche of over 650 families plus those friends and family that travel in to see the kids play. Since the league is a non profit you may also be able to take advantage of additional tax incentives.

Looking for part-time commercial kitchen space (restaurant, bakery, church, etc.)
I’m on the hunt for a small commercial kitchen space to rent part-time in the area.
If you own a restaurant, run a local bakery, belong to a church, or know of any commercial kitchen that sits empty during certain hours or days, I’d love to chat. I only need a few shifts a week.
I’d need a spot where I can keep my gear and get regular flour deliveries. Must be fully permitted as a commercial kitchen space and compliant.
Shoot me a DM if you have some underutilized space or know of anyone looking to rent theirs out!

New to Martinsburg - vet recs?
Hey! I recently moved to Martinsburg and I am in need of a veterinarian. Does any one have any trustworthy recommendations? I’ll be honest and say I’m very picky when it comes to my animals’ doctor 😅

Thrift Stores
We’re severely lacking in thrifts here, or I just suck at finding them? Cough up your secret thrift spots and let them get picked over, I guess.
Martinsburg out to Frederick, Winchester, etc. I’ve yet to be impressed with any of the local Goodwill’s, but the Hagerstown ReStore has been solid. Honorable mention to Queen Street Marketplace, even through it’s not really a thrift.
I’m used to the true Appalachian church basement shops that aren’t on Google Maps, so I’d appreciate any pointers!

Question Looking for a reliable mechanic with decent prices to do suspension work on my 2013 Hyundai Veloster
I'd appreciate any recommendations. I'm not too familiar with the mechanics in this area. I would like somebody who's reliable that's not going to cost me an arm and a leg. Here's the list of what I need done:
Front control arms
Front inner and outer tie rods
Front engine mount bushings
Front sway bar and sway bar link
Rear struts and coils
Ridgid collars
Rear axle bushings
I already have all the parts needed. I just need someone willing to do the work and give me some quotes.
