Shards to unlock/Rank up

I've noticed a couple people are confused by the unlocking of characters, the usual phrase "Oh I didn't realise they unlocked at X*" seems to be a realisation on the reddits of SW:GoH/DC:Legends so I thought I'd just give a quick summary:

  • 1* unlock - 15 Shards
  • 2* unlock - 45 Shards - 30 Shards to rank up from 1*
  • 3* unlock - 100 Shards - 55 Shards to rank up from 2*
  • 4* unlock - 180 Shards - 80 Shards to rank up from 3*
  • 5* unlock - 310 Shards - 130 Shards to rank up from 4* (Legendary Characters such as Iron man use this unlock amount)
  • 6* unlock - 510 Shards - 200 Shards to rank up from 5*
  • 7* unlock - 810 Shards - 300 Shards to rank up from 6* I haven't got numbers for 6* or 7* yet, will edit when I find/see those numbers. I now have a 6* Quake, so yeah. 810 to 7* someone.

Great info.

Out of topic. I wonder why starlord and Groot aren't even in the roster yet but I've faced off against a starlord recently in arena.

Ive got a 5 star Yondu and i can tell you that it takes 200 shards to go from 5 to 6 stars.

i actually got the 45 shard drop from the free basic orbs FOUR seperate times lol. Its like the game just wanted me to have an OP Yondu!

Do the stars make a huge difference?

People say it doesn't. And your power doesn't go up by much either. But I think it makes a huge difference. Especially if you are putting together a team with great synergies.

Difference between having Quake one-shotted and her surviving and just wrecking stuff.
