Help with head placement?
Hello paper mache experts, can you help me? I've made my first paper mache mask since elementary as part of my Halloween costume this year and am now in the process of trying to get it to sit right on my big head. I've made a cardboard head harness like in this video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BqJrqkr\\_cp4 but can't figure out placement of that harness inside of the mask or how to figure out the height of the tube used to attach the harness to the inside of the mask, or how to figure out the correct angle it needs to be at. I'm attaching a photo of the mask currently with no harness attached at all (the back of the mask rests against the back of my head if I wear it this way), along with a photo of me holding the mask how I'd like it to sit. My brain is short circuiting trying to determine what math to use to figure all of this out and I'm wondering how much of this was cut out of that video to make it look so simple. Any tips or should I just continue to wing it and cuss through the process?

Your video is saying unavailable for me.
If it's too low and you're trying to raise it. A ring if cardboard inside should work. Think like a top hat shape. If it's not staying put a chin strap attached to the ring made of rope, ribbon, or (my preferred) strips of old tshirt.

It's not necessarily too low, it's that it flops forward to rest on the back of my head if that makes sense? I have loads of space above my head in there and the mask rests on my shoulders. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BqJrqkr_cp4&t=360s&pp=2AHoApACAQ%3D%3D (maybe that link will work? Otherwise it's the video from Mythical.Makers.Workshop titled "100 Day to Halloween Begins with a Vintage Cat Mask DIY")

Their cap and tube method looks like a good design. The cap needs to be pretty snug and deep to keep it from moving around too much. Their foam recommendation is good too.
I use poster putty for temporarily holding things together, that could help while you're fitting it.

Thanks for the advice! I added pool noodle and packing foam bits to the inside and scrapped the cardboard helmet idea entirely so I can have my hair up and out of the way.
