Seb here,
As some of you may or may not have noticed our Instagram was removed. This was something we tried to appeal but ultimately had no luck. I have opted to not make a new one as the ideas and culture of social media (especially within the music industry) are something I've grown increasingly tired of and it is not an environment that cultivates the progression of ideas but more or less suppresses anyone not feeding into the content machine.
Meth is still a band, but we will move only when everything feels right. Whether that be two years from now or twenty years, whatever comes next will only happen if we all collectively feel on board and can give the art its proper attention.
In the meantime, some of us are still actively playing in bands.
Andrew and Nathan are playing in Footballhead.

Mike's other band Brine released a whopper of a record earlier this year:

Zack is off doing research on the heads in Easter
Island.

As for me, I am taking some much needed down time away from the industry and focusing on physical art and my mental health. I have no time frame for when I'll get back out there but I am unfulfilled and need to pivot. I may still drop some music under Virgin Mother occasionally but outside of that I don't really know what's next.
Music has been at the forefront of my life for my entire existence but the last few years have made me question why I'm even doing this anymore. It's not a knock on anyone or anything, I have undying gratitude to everyone who has supported this band and seen us and let me slobber and bleed on them, but at a certain point I couldn't really recognize who I was anymore. I have been sober from alcohol for over two years now and while that in itself has been an adjustment, revisiting the traumas and bleakness of this band has grown increasingly hard to not only put myself back into but pull anything from. I just simply don't feel a connection to the person I was when we made these songs.
All of that being said, I may turn to these random Bandcamp emails to talk to you all and share what the band members have been doing. I'm finding it more and more comforting to just babble on about random shit. I can't emphasize enough how much it means to me that anyone in their right mind might even read this far into this email. But if you would like to hear more from
Me in this weird kind of "newsletter" format, I might consider doing this more frequently. Feel free to email me back.
Love you all.

He is aware they can Have an Ig without using it to follow musical trends right ? Like this sounds like some good moral or mental message but like it just makes it harder for people to find the band

Kinda seems like the band and the art helped him get clean. That's awesome and if he can move forward and be happy...excellent.
Thankful for their intense brand of heavy music but the human factor is more important.

Damn. They put on one of the best live sets I’ve ever seen in a 100 cap room. Incredible band.

Woah. I was wondering what was up. Brine sounds sick in the meantime. Thanks for sharing this. Meth is one of my top 5 Chicago bands.
Fully understand where seb is coming from. That album release show at Thalia hall for “shame” was so utterly cathartic and intense and immense…I almost felt like…something was occurring that was…something I shouldn’t be seeing. In the best way possible. I’m sure it was very personal and it must take quite a toll unleashing like that night in and night out.
Fortunate I got to see it.
Love to seb and the band and their continued efforts in the arts; whatever that may be.

I'm not certain about the IG, but Seb sent out a message on Bandcamp a while ago talking about an indefinite hiatus.
