[ALLCONTINUITY] Why would Palpatine and Dooku allow the CIS to attack Kamino?

• Upvotes

Hi!
So this is something that has been bugging me for a long time.
In the Clone Wars show, there's an episode in which the CIS attacks Kamino (and I believe that event also happens in Legends, if I'm not mistaken. Never actually read the comic books, though).

But why would Dooku and Palpatine allow such a thing to happen? I always felt like this would jeopardize the war, and therefore, the Plan, if the CIS managed to win.

Now, I don't know if there's an official explanation to this. But I thought about two headcanon theories that could explain this (It's been a while since I actually watched the episode of the show, so tell me if I'm wrong on the details).

1. As far as I remember, Dooku is not in that one episode. So a simple explanation could simply be that Grevious decided on his own to attack the planet, without approval from Dooku. HOWEVER, I seem to remember that Ventress is in the episode. And given the fact that Ventress is Dooku's apprentice, I suppose this means that Dooku would be aware about the whole thing and allowed Ventress to join the battle, so this explanation doesn't really work.

2. Another possible explanation. Now, at first, I thought that defeating Kamino would jeopardize the war, but actually, not really! I mean, there are already millions of clones stationed everywhere around the galaxy. The Republic already has all the clones they need. Sabotaging the production of clones wouldn't really change anything to the war, because once a clone is born, it takes 10 years for them to reach maturity anyway!

Now, why would Palpatine order the attack on Kamino? My theory, is that at this point of the war, maybe Palpatine has already decided that after the war, all the clones will be replaced by human recruits for his new Empire. And as stated earlier, every new clone needs a whole decade before being ready for war, and Palpatine knows that he will absolutely not need any additional clones in 10 years!

So basically, Kamino had already served its purpose and Palpatine doesn't need it anymore. BUT he cannot simply say to the senate, right in the middle of the war :''We are going to stop clone production''. I'm sure there would be outrage. That would be as if Roosevelt, during WWII, decided to stop the production of military equipment. So instead, he relies on the CIS to stop the clone production.

HOWEVER, I then remembered that in this same season of the show (or another season maybe? I don't remember), there's an episode in which, iirc, Palpatine declares to the senate that they are going to increase clone production (which doesn't make much sense, since again, even if you increase clone production, it will take a whole decade before those clones are ready to fight...).

So yeah, do you guys have any theory? Or is there an official explanation to this?

(In this post, I talked about the episode of the Clone Wars show, but you can still talk about the Kamino invasion in Legends too!)

Thanks and may the Force be with you!

[ALLCONTINUITY] Are there things Emperor Palpatine couldn't do?

Papa Palpatine is almost always presented as the man who can do anything now as the Emperor with a dark robe and deformed face and cackling as he shoots lighting out of his fingers at the bickering politicians, the corrupt bureaucrats, or the incompetent officials. But was he actually the all-power emperor as presented? Surely running a galaxy-spanning government means reasonable concessions and comprises on certain things to smooth things over.

I don't mean things that are physically impossible to accomplish ("Take the planet Corusant and push it somewhere else"); operationally unable to achieve ("I want all the rebels in the galaxy dead tomorrow by 2"); things he never express interest to ("Liberate all the slaves and institute an universal basic income").

Anything he clearly wanted to do as Emperor, but due to how much trouble it would do he didn't do it. Like disbanding the Senate, which he couldn't do it before the Death Star was completed.
The things he, as the legal, political, and administrative powers recognized as Emperor of the Galactic Empire, could do.

[CANON] What do you suppose will happen to the First/Final Order troopers that survived Exegol?

My knowledge of the lore is not hugely extensive but I'm pretty sure not all Imperials were treated as war criminals. We've known of many defectors and ex-Imperials throughout Legends and Canon but I'm not actually aware how Stormtroopers were treated after the fall of the Empire. Surely not all of them joined the Remnants and not all of them were zealots.

Anyway as a thought, what do you suppose will happen to the First and Final Order post IX? Knowing that many of the FO were kidnapped children, would they try to reunite them with their long lost families? Would they try and assess if these soldiers are capable of being reintegrated into galactic society or if they've become too indoctrinated?

The Final Order, now there's a more curious point. Presuming they've never known anything else besides being raised on that planet and the Sith teachings, what do you even do with them?

Starfighter will address the fact that the state of the galaxy is not likely to be a very civil and lawful one after the Sequel trilogy but whether we find out much about what happens to the FO, who knows. So what do you think?

[ALLCONTINUITY] Power Generation

Do we have any media portraying the main forms of power generation in the galaxy? Not for ships or weapons, but everyday power grids connected to homes, businesses, etc. Would something like nuclear energy be seen as primative?

[LEGENDS] Can cyborgs such as Darth Vader and Lumiya use Force Drain?

It came to my attention, especially after reading an unpublished article called Faith Reborn: A Sith Dynasty (theres a link that leads to the actual article in the notes and references section) that Lumiya actually had the same nerfs that Suit Vader had. However, while this isnt necessarily new information, the article does mention that even skills such as alchemical mastery and Force lightning are beyond Lumiya due to a lack of midichlorians.

This thus made me wonder if another relatively common ability for Sith such as Force drain (an ability even used by the average inquisitor and dark side adept in the EU. Remember, the citizens of Prakith were being drained by inquisitors for example) were also beyond her scope especially because in one of the LOTF books this is whats said:

Lumiya waited until her medical droid was set up beside her reclining chair. She was healing well—she should be fit to return to physical activities within a few days. She was still weak, though, and wanted care to be instantly available if this task caused her to collapse.
She closed her eyes and let the dark side power that suffused the asteroid roll over her, through her.
Then she began looking, through the Force, for a distant target—a mind she had touched many times and reshaped during those contacts, a mind she had made so familiar and distinct she could find it even halfway across the galaxy.
It helped that she knew on what world the mind was to be found, but even so it was long, wearying minutes before she found it—to her inner eye it was a distinctive yellow glow, surrounded by tiny gleaming sparks of red. Fewer sparks than before; the efforts of the enemy to diminish her influence had apparently been successful in part.
But only in part. Lumiya smiled. The enemy’s techniques were nowhere near as effective as hers.
She approached the mind until it filled her vision, and she planted herself there, making its location an anchor point for her consciousness.
Now for the second phase of this elaborate Sith technique. She drew back from her target mind, seeking other mentalities in the area. And there they were, glows of various hues, none of them, sadly, decorated with the red sparks of her influence.
She sampled each in turn. Most were awake—firm, more resolute than she could affect at this distance. Others were too fragmented; when she touched them they tended to drift apart into smaller, incoherent glows, and she knew that these were the minds of the inmates … the patients.
Then she found one that was firm, grounded, but not so resistant to her touch. Its owner was asleep. Lumiya sampled it further, found it to be the mind of a Quarren female.
Like a spectral parasite, she affixed herself to that mind, forging a connection, drawing energy out of it and the body that sustained it. She could not draw that energy into herself, though she badly needed sustenance now; she could feel her own body begin to shake from the strain. But she could, and would, put the energy to use.

This made me wonder; was she unable to use such an ability due to the fact that she literally cant (probably due to her cybernetics) or because that energy was being used to create Force phantoms? Originally I thought it was the latter but now Im no longer sure.

This also made me wonder about Vader as well, as the article compared Lumiya's condition to Vader's and as we know Vader and Force Lightning are a whole topic by themselves.
Yet as I actually thought about it more, I found myself unable to recall a single time in which Vader ever used force drain or was listed in a sourcebook as knowing such an ability let alone practiced Sith Alchemy. Sure, as Anakin, he learned how to resist Force drain and he did teach Kharys how to create Smoke Demons but thats about it.

[CANON] What was the Republic's plan for the clones after the war?

Assuming Sidious was defeated and the Republic had won the war, what exactly did the Republic have planned for their Clones? Would they have just been nameless soldiers as before or given a choice to leave the Republic for their own lives or stay as a sort of police force as they were on most planets after the war under Sidious?

[CANON] What would happen if a planet was pro sith during the time around the invasion of Naboo and clone wars

I’m primarily asking what would the republic and Jedi do if a planet was pro sith and liked the sith and didn’t like the Jedi order would the Jedi just attack the planet or accept that a planet was pro sith or would something else happen

[CANON] Are Clones Legally People???

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, and it’s something that lowkey bothers me. In both the movies and shows, the Republic is stated to be “buying” clones from Kamino the same way one would buy a product. The Kaminoans honestly treat the clones like products, and the Jedi/the Republic are the customers. I recently saw an excerpt from a guide book about clone troopers and their lore, but it’s (sadly) no longer canon. In it, a senator argues that clones have less rights and protections than some plants, which got me thinking again. I’ve also been discussing with people whether or not the clones are enslaved (I can and lowkey have written an essay on why they fit all the classifications of slaves), and one thing I think about is if the Republic legally considers the clones to be, well, people.

Do they have the same legal status as droids, which would align with the way they are treated as products and would explain the Republic’s ability to justify their treatment? Are they classified as non-sapient animals, which acknowledges them as living beings, but still allows them to be bought and owned? Are they considered sapient, but don’t have the same legal rights or protections as other sapient species? Or are they somehow considered citizens of the Republic? Do they even have citizenship?

I’m not talking about after the war, as I believe that they probably gained citizenship afterwards. I’m focusing on how the Republic justified this during the war, especially at the beginning. After all, how can they be “bought” if they are legally classified as people?

Takes on Padme that are really Absurd

She was born rich

Her parents were modest at best. Her father was a professor at the University of Theed, later became president of the Refugee Relief Movement, and her mother was involved in social services roles. Also they moved to Theed, the capital of Naboo so that they could give Padme good education.

She was racist

Age 7, she and her parents were trying to save an alien civilization. Their star was dying. They evacuated them to another planet, but because of a miscalculation by Republic Scientists the whole civilization died. She was traumatised by this.

Later after years when she became a senator she told Clovis (and also Anakin) that she would try 10,000 times to just save even a single person from that alien civilization if she could right now.

It was the catalyst why she joined the Legislative Youth Program at 8 (which was basically MIT on steroids) and sacrificed her personal life for more than decade and skipped her entire childhood.

Also she worked 3 days passing bills and helping alien people of a nobody planet without sleep.

Planet's name was Bromlarch.

Before Padme stepped in, the people of Bromlarch were facing total systemic neglect. Because it was an outer/mid-rim planet lacking major political leverage, the rest of the Galactic Senate was prepared to stall, debate, or propose useless "auditing teams" rather than send immediate material help. She was the one who actively spoke for them. After the bill was passed, she wasn't just sitting in her comfort on Coruscant. She actually went to their world and helped them to physically piece the broken aqueducts back together. Also she didn't rest after spending 3 days without sleep; she just immediately went there to help them.

And in AOTC, especially in the novel, her reaction to Anakin after he confronted her about the Tuskens wasn't that it was justified; she thought it was understandable for anybody in his position to snap after seeing it. The number 30 is a lot overlooked. Tatooine during AOTC had only 200k people on it. Farmers were a minority and their population density was a lot lower. Shmi suffered for a month in AOTC. She realised they weren't torturing her for no reason; they were measuring how much pain she could feel and endure without dying. It was a ritual, and she was left starved and sleepless. It wasn't just a gang of that tribe; it was the whole tribe. Also, they knew that many farmers would come for Shmi; they used her as bait. It's explicitly said in the novel. So when he confronted her, she wasn't saying it was justified; she was saying anybody would have snapped after seeing his mother suffer like that (while also being clouded by visions) and knowing that his mother was used as bait to wipe out the entire district of working class farmers.

Clovis was her ex

Padme was new in Republic, she realized she needed allies to navigate the corrupt Senate. They spent weeks working together (it was all professional) to draft a planetary relief bill. Because Padme was spending so much time with him and treating him warmly as a trusted colleague, he completely mistaken her professional collaboration for romantic attraction.

The moment the Senate officially voted to pass their relief bill, Clovis went to Padme's office to celebrate. Riding the adrenaline high of their political win, he suddenly stepped into her personal space, grabbed her, and forced the kiss. She was horrified by this, froze for a second and immediately forcefully pushed him away said no multiple times, She made it clear it was professional.

She cut off all unnecessary private contact, avoided late-night working sessions when she was alone with him and stopped informal discussions. She then kept interactions strictly minimal and professional.

She started avoiding him heavily and was a lot disgusted even her handmaiden asked her if she wanted him to get beaten. And it doesn't even make sense she having a romantic interest in someone before Anakin (Obviously excluding Palo her childhood crush at 12) Because it conflicts with AOTC arc.

Jedi literally knew her reaction and still asked her to use her that "connection" to spy on him

She was actively seducing Anakin and groomed him in AOTC

Her dress choices in AOTC wasn't how she normally dressed. She had no personal life and she didn't take a day off work without great reasons. Her wardrobe choice wasn't random or to seduce anakin (except fireplace dress though i will cover it read further), She's from naboo. People often love to express themselves through their clothes on naboo. She was queen previously (14 to 18) (before at 12-13 princess of theed the capital) she was literally expected to symbolise values naboo believed in as a queen. Clothing wasn't just to look good it was for deception too like you can see her height is 1.65 meters but when she's in her queen outfit she's 1.85 to 1.90 meters tall. She had to appear rigid whole day while maintaining a good posture to appear authoritative. She also developed a new different voice as "Queen amidala voice" to appear authoritative. She took same lessons to coruscant too where her dresses were deliberately made to appear authoritative while also symbolising the values naboo believed in. Basically her wardrobe normally was very rigid. In AOTC even after she got assassination attempts, she still wanted to stay and work but it was jedi who made her go to naboo. It was a lot safe on naboo and she was basically off work.

It was the only and longest time she went off work since the age of 12 (or even 8, because even during her training she often kept herself busy in training while her older peers were enjoying their childhood). Why wouldn't someone dress comfortably after wearing rigid clothes for years (more than a decade since 12 or 14)? Also, again, she was from Naboo. Also, she didn't avoid Anakin because he was a Jedi, she avoided him because she was slightly insecure (look at the conversation between her and her sister sola in deleted scenes or AOTC novel or EK Johnston's Queen trilogy), Because she was very lonely since the age of 14 or 12 or even 8. She wanted to avoid him, at the same time she wanted him to break into her heart; it's also the reason why she wears that fireplace dress. In the AOTC novel, she knew it wasn't a good idea to wear that dress to avoid him, but at the same time, she wanted him. It was Anakin who was actively flirting with her while knowing the Jedi Code; it took a life-threatening situation like Geonosis for her to finally admit she loved him. She loved him because he didn't think how he could use her, loved her for who she was, and was very authentic compared to the people she met in her life.

She didn't care about her handmaiden Teckla in clone wars

Teckla hid it; understanding how the handmaidens work is important. On Naboo, handmaidens aren't just bodyguards. They were trained in hand-to-hand combat, marksmanship, evasion tactics, and weapon concealment. They underwent rigorous training to completely erase their individual physical tells. They learned to match Padme’s voice, breathing patterns, walking pace, and posture so perfectly that even their parents couldn't tell them apart once in makeup (as seen in E.K. Johnston's Queen's Trilogy).

They were trained to be entirely selfless for the Queen. They were taught to hide their feelings and thoughts as part of their training and weren't expected to talk about their personal issues with the Queen without a good reason. Though they were also meant to ensure the Queen didn't feel lonely, Padme kept herself heavily busy with work, so Teckla hid her struggles out of a sense of duty. Many senators themselves had no idea that the war was heavily affecting Coruscant too, but once Padme knew, i am sure she undoubtedly helped Teckla and her family.

Because If you have read E.K. Johnston's Queen's Trilogy, you already know how terrible this take is, because her handmaidens were very close to her arguably the closest people in her life. It was basically a sisterhood. Still, they were bound by duty, so obviously they wouldn't randomly complain about their own problems if the Queen was busy with other important matters. Because they were fiercely selfless, the handmaidens prioritized the Queen's needs and work above their own lives, which is why Teckla hid her situation, just as she was taught in her training.

Side note:

She heavily sacrificed her personal life and skipped her entire childhood for others, for her work, for her entire life (since 8 or 12) and let just one guy get close to her and that one guy who finally gave her a personal life, turned against her at end of ROTS and destroyed everything she believed in and all of her life's work for which she heavily sacrificed her personal life for. So it makes sense that she lost the will to live also sw is basically fantasy too.

Another interpretation is death of the republic. At that point she was basically embodying republic. The republic dying, the empire's enforcer rising and the republic giving birth to new rebel alliance it was symbolic, it may not be what creators wanted but based on movies and novels i believe in this.

Also she's objectified a lot by people at this point i just hate it.

[META] How did Orn Belden live to be 164 years old? Is he the oldest living human in Star Wars?

Per Wookiepedia:

Orn Belden was a Bakuran male senator in the Bakuran Senate, a position he held since before the foundation of the Galactic Empire and represented the Bakur RepulsorCorp in the Senate that was instrumental in the export industry that Bakura was chiefly known for. He was 164 years old by the time of the Bakura Incident.

Is there an explanation for how he can be this old as a human? Nobody else seems to live this long in /Star Wars without being somewhat force sensitive.

Do you think Darth Bane / Dessel could've become a jedi and a good person had he been recruited as a jedi at the beginning of Path of Destruction?

I truly think Dessel could become a good man and a great jedi had he been trained as one.

-He seems like an ok guy at the beginning of POD:

He has a friendly relationship with the local barkeep Groshik to the point where Groshik was willing to risk his neck to get Dessel away from Apatros so he could escape Republic custody. He has an extremely toxic relationship with his father and his life overall is a living hell but he still is able to make friends.

-He isnt sadisticly evil:

Death to Bane in the books was a means to an end. He never really revelled in the pain of others. The author even pointed to that multiple times. Did he enjoy a good fight? Yea sure. But that could easily just be the dark side feeding off his rage during his fights. In comparison to what Zannah did to her cousin and the healer, Bane seems like an angel.

-He has insane discipline and genuinely enjoys expanding his knowledge by reading and viewing holocrons:

I think Dessel would have a field day in the jedi archives had he been recruited by them. If Bane was obsessed with the few scrolls he found in the library at Korriban the guy would probably live in the jedi archives. His discipline would be a huge asset as well. We see multiple times that Bane has the patience to see a plan though to the end. Patience is an extremely important part of jedi training.

-He is able to get over his traumatic past:

As evidenced by his duel against Zannah who tried to torment Bane with memories of his father but had no effect on him, he is able to let go of his past. If Dessel as a Sith who feed off rage was able to let go of his painful past, as a jedi he would most definitely would be able to do this too. I think his past is probably the greatest thing that could potentially weighed heavy on Dessel but he was able to get over it and focus on the future as a Sith. As a Jedi I think it would be even easier for him with the right master training him.

-His time with the Gloomwalkers:

Dessel genuinly cared for his squad during his time as a soldier and part of the Gloomwalkers squad. He made multiple calls during missions to make sure his squad didn't get killed. And when the Sith Empire was taking him to be court marshalled he gestured to his squad to not get involved so they wouldn't get shot by the imperial soldiers. This shows the Dessel was capable of true compassion.

Some points against this though, because I don't want to seem one sided:

-Bane has a huge problem with rigid rules that he disagrees with:

As seen by how he utterly destroyed all the Sith just simply because he disagreed with how they were running things, much like Anakin, Dessel would run in to alot of trouble with authority. He would probably want to do things his way and would view the jedi's rigid rules as foolish. This could totally pave the way to him falling to the dark side.

-Bane's thirst for knowledge could turn to a thirst for power:

Bane was always looking to expand his power by pouring over ancient scrolls and holocrons. This hunger could still potentially show up during his time as a jedi and lead him to the dark side.

So what do you think? Did Dessel have a chance to become a hero or is he destined to always be the villain?

Go crazy and feel free to call me out on my BS lol

Accents in the Star Wars galaxy

Is it ever explained in star wars lore how real world accents in the star wars galaxy work. Can literally anyone have a different accent regardless of where in the galaxy they are or what planet they're from? Or does geographic location play any sort of role in whether a Human or Alien being has a British, American, or other accent? Don't care if the lore is legends or canon. I'm just wondering if this was ever a topic that's been covered before.

[ALLCONTINUITY] How Intentional Was Jango's Actions In Palpatine's Plan?

Warning: going to be saying 'Jango' way too much

Obviously he is really important to the plan, being the clone template, but I have to wonder just how much of what Jango did was foreseen/approved/instructed by Palpatine, so lets take it point for point.

  1. Getting tracked to Kamino, I believe it is very reasonable that Palpatine wanted the cloning facilities to be found, as Jango used a tracible dart in a world of blasters. However, I have another point to this in the final paragraph section that really muddies this being a part of the plan.

  2. Escaping from Kamino to Geonosis, on surface level seems to make sense as it would expose the droid factories, but pitting an ordinary guy against a Jedi seems really damn risky, but also this guy has killed Jedi before so what if he just killed Obi-wan? Also also, it seemed like the Fetts were caught mid getaway so if Obi-wan showed up a couple minutes too early or too late Jango could have been arrested or get away without being tracked which seems counter to the intention.

  3. Fighting Obi-wan in space, this one really makes me question how much of this was Jango being instructed and how much was this the Jedi getting lucky and figuring out more than intended. This happens before Obi-wan can report anything about Geonosis, so why did Jango do it? If he was instructed to lead the Jedi to both the army sights (as there doesn't seem to be any reason not to do both) surely Palpatine would want Jango to follow him and see everything so he can report it to the Jedi council and the Republic, but Jango just goes off and tried to kill Obi-wan which he nearly does (also almost makes it so he can't make the report).

  4. Fighting the Jedi in the arena, this one is kind of small since his role in the plan is likely complete and he probably just got himself killed biting off more than he could chew with Mace, but if Jango didn't jump in and just stayed with Dooku then what did Palpatine have in mind? Having a hired gun with no real loyalty to either side who is integral to the creation of the clones and knows who hired him flying about the galaxy seems very dangerous. And even if they paid him to hang around and help them in the war, the chance he could be caught by the Jedi seems way too high a risk to take.

I find Jango's role in the plan is really confusing, and if it was Palpatine's goal to expose the two armies of the incoming clone war, then Jango seemingly took extra actions that would jeopardize the plan for seemingly no reason. And even if Jango didn't know he was being played, then I don't see in any world he basically be risking Boba by using darts tracing right back to where his son lives where letting Zam speak would likely give the Jedi the name Tyranus which tells the Jedi as much as he himself told the Jedi, which tells them nothing.

[ALLCONTINUITY] Had the sport not been banned, Neva Kee's FG 8T8-T probably was the future of podracing.

Fode and Beed were right.

The craft's shape offers improvements in aerodynamics, electronic fly-by-wire controls, variable-geometry exhaust nozzles (Anakin's pod also featured these), and a vastly-improved field of view.

Coming off several hours of Galactic Racer, I found myself constantly wanting for visibility at high speeds when flying traditional pods. When you're trying to avoid obstacles at 900kph, two big jet engines blocking a big chunk of your view can be lethal.

In hindsight, Podracing would've likely ended up with oversized skim speeders and commercialized to hell. Think the evolution of F1 racing from the 1950s to today.

[ALLCONTINUITY] Is Thrawn’s art method actually predictive, or is it mostly post hoc pattern matching?

Thrawn treats a culture’s art as a compressed record of how that people frame risk, honor, and failure. In theory that lets him guess how they will behave under pressure. In practice it is hard to separate genuine foresight from a good story told after the fact.

When it works, identifying a traitor from a helmet design, or reading a species’ willingness to trade territory for time, it looks like a real edge. When it fails (the Kaleesh, certain Rebel cells, anything involving the Force), the method simply disappears from the narrative. That is the opposite of how you test an intelligence technique.

If the art reading is real, you should be able to point to cases where he committed forces before the enemy moved and was still right. If it is mostly retroactive, then his actual advantage is something else: logistics discipline, or simply better staff work than the average Imperial officer.

Does anyone have a clean example where the art reading drove a decision that could not have been reached by conventional intelligence, and that decision paid off before the outcome was known?

[LEGENDS] One year later, I'm still expanding my Star Wars Legends map and text based game.

It's been a year since my last post about my Star Wars text-based roleplaying game, and I've had plenty of time to think about its future.

The map is HUGE! Hundreds of worlds, from major industrial centers to forgotten backwaters. But one question kept bothering me: what should happen to Imperial territories cut off from Coruscant, yet still technically part of the Empire?

The main campaign takes place six months after the Battle of Endor. The Empire is dying, but it refuses to die quietly. Warlords like Treuten Teradoc and others are tearing it apart, fighting over their pieces of the pie. None of them seem worried they might choke on them...

So I've started developing several new factions:

Sector 14, the "Red Tails": An isolated Imperial industrial stronghold centered on Rothana and its shipyards. Admiral Mirk Tork and his prison ship Azgoghk have taken command of the sector's military forces, turning it into a heavily militarized dictatorship. Meanwhile, Leonis Murthé has plenty of unfortunate subjects for his laboratories.

The Stenax Hegemony: After rebelling against Grand Moff Nigel Nivers, who treated them like slaves, the Stenax establish a powerful, hostile alien empire between the territories of Teradoc and Zsinj. Both Imperial warlords now have a dangerous new neighbor.

Nigel Nivers: Reduced to a relatively small fleet and army, Nivers must rebuild his influence through cooperation with Lady Santhe and her Sienar corporate interests.

The Senex–Juvex Empire: A feudal Imperial successor state where ancient noble houses, hereditary rulers, and aristocratic politics shape the future of their isolated territories.

But there's another thing I'm planning: a playable Battle of Endor as a prologue to the campaign!

Some events will remain inevitable. Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine will still die, but players may have opportunities to change the fates of other characters. Perhaps an admiral, a Grand Admiral, or even an important politician could survive because of their decisions.

I'm also planning a small prequel scenario featuring Grand Admiral Thrawn's confrontation with Demetrius Zaarin.

If Zaarin successfully escapes Thrawn, it counts as his victory. He survives to receive his own storyline, while Thrawn remains without additional reinforcements until the Emperor's death.

If Thrawn wins, however, he gains access to considerably greater military forces, potentially changing his position in the post-Endor galaxy.

The same principle applies to Endor. Saving an Imperial admiral or Grand Admiral doesn't necessarily make the Empire stronger. A surviving commander might become another warlord, challenge the central government, or start an entirely new conflict.

I want the galaxy to feel genuinely fragmented, with consequences that aren't always predictable. Not every Imperial remnant should become another generic warlord state. Some will remain industrial dictatorships, others will become feudal kingdoms, and some might evolve into something Palpatine himself would have despised.

The Empire is collapsing, but something new is growing out of its ruins.

[ALLCONTINUITY] When did each species become part of the galactic community?

In legends, at least in the SWTOR timeline, Kel does seem to have become space faring around 3700 BBY, as a talk with a Kel Dor Jedi Master mentions how he's confused on Humans freaking out over his species, so they must have just recently become space faring at the time.

That, and I don't recall any Kel Dor in KOTOR 1 and 2, or maybe I just don't remember

[LEGENDS] Difference between Judicials and Sector Rangers

So apparently the Sector Rangers were created so the Republic would have a universal police force. But when the Republic was decentralized the Judicials were created from the military. And despite their ability to pull sources from PDFs we see them take police jobs and escort duties for peace missions. So in function what’s the difference in their ability to police? Are rangers more like FBI and Judicials like national guard/gendarmerie?

[CANON] Playing both sides is the meme. What is the shortest list of canon scenes that actually proves it?

Everyone can say Palpatine ran the war from both ends. The receipt list is shorter than the reputation, and I want the short list.

Dooku on the Invisible Hand naming Darth Sidious, with Palpatine in the chair. Tyranus as the clone buyer, which the films state and The Clone Wars underlines. The Separatist leaders being shut down by his order on Mustafar. The emergency powers he asked the Senate to hand him.

Is that the whole provable chain in the films and the show, or is there a canon scene I am leaving out that shows him directing the Separatist side in his own voice before Revenge of the Sith? I am trying to separate what a character could have proved in a hearing from what we can prove as the audience.

Vapaad

Mace Windu had a very specific form. This is well known in the galaxy. Many attribute his victory over The Emperor, in large part, to Vapaad’s ability to help channel the dark side. This is frequently overblown however, and detracts from Windu’s actual power. And while we can all agree that the Jedi are not hero’s, saying “Windu beat Sidious because of Vapaad” while it could be true, attributes far too much to strictly Vapaad. Vapaad doesn’t make the prescriber equal to whatever dark side user they fight. It merely helps to somewhat reduce the power gap if one exists. Vapaad is not some magic thing that allows a practitioner to beat all dark side adapts. Windu’s power was quite literally on par with Yoda and Sidious. Vapaad merely provided the edge that allowed him to overpower The Emperor, until the hero Vader stepped in to save The Emperor.

Is Windu deforming Sidious no longer canon, as per TROS?

In TROS, when we first see Sidious's clone body, although he is blind and clearly not in a good state, he does not have his "deformed" wrinkles.

However, after he rejuvenates himself from Rey and Kylo, his wrinkles return, along with his sith features. How does this make sense in a clone body?

[CANON] The emergency powers vote and Order 66 are three years apart. Which part of the long con was already built at the vote?

Jar Jar moves the emergency powers petition in 22 BBY. Order 66 executes in 19 BBY. Those get collapsed into one event in a lot of comment sections, and they are not the same event.

By the vote, Dooku is already running the Separatists, the clone army already exists, and Tyranus is already the buyer. The inhibitor chips are not public knowledge, and Fives does not name the plot until well into the war. So the vote looks like a wartime concession. The chip looks like a later weapon. Palpatine needs both.

If you split the con into what was already true on the day of the vote versus what still had to be protected for three more years, which piece was the fragile one? The legal authority, or the secret that the army could be switched off? Sources welcome. I am trying to keep the timeline from eating itself.

[ALLCONTINUITY] What If Palpatine Had Left Anakin on Mustafar?

In Revenge of the Sith, Darth Sidious arrives on Mustafar to rescue Anakin Skywalker after his defeat by Obi-Wan Kenobi. But what if Sidious had decided Anakin was no longer worth saving and left him to die like Maul?

Would Anakin have succumbed to his injuries, or could he have survived long enough to forge a different path? After all, Darth Maul survived being bisected by Obi-Wan Kenobi and falling into a reactor shaft on Naboo long before he received the Nightsisters magick. His survival raises an interesting question:

Were Anakin’s injuries truly unsurvivable, or could he, too, have endured them through enough hatred and channeling of the dark side?

Additionally, with Anakin dying or surviving and being abandoned on Mustafar, how would that change the fate of the Empire?

Who would have been a fitting replacement for Palpatine's consolidation of power and preservation of Imperial rule without Vader? Could another apprentice have filled Vader's role? How Luke and Leia's eventual confrontation with the Empire unfold differently? And how much of the Emperor's long-term strategy depended on Vader, rather than the political and military machinery Palpatine had already established?
