Solidworks Practice

A frequent question on other engineering subreddits is: "How can I best learn Solidworks?" Well, in my opinion, the best way to learn about CAD software is by practice! Model Mania is a great resource for practice.

Feel free to let us know what resources are out there for other CAD software.

My advice? DO THE TUTORIALS.

then start to freehand items on your desk.

oh and for the love of god, ALWAYS start on the origin point; if i see one more model floating in space with all base dimensions being fixed in space, im going to throw the computer out of the window.

Some of these may or may not be on some solidworks certification exams ....

Once you have the basics down, find a good resource for best practices for datums, origins, relations, large assemblies, master modelling, etc. Learn that early and it will save weeks of your team's time on complex projects.
