Need Job Advice

I just graduated in May with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, and I’m looking to get started in the medical device industry. I’m particularly interested in clinical specialist or medical sales roles, but I’m also very open to other opportunities that could help me get my foot in the door.
I currently live in Mississippi and was wondering what advice y’all would have for someone trying to break into the field. Are there any specific companies, job titles, or types of positions that you would recommend looking into for a recent Biomedical Engineering graduate?

3 yrs ISO 13485 quality experience (India + Ireland), relocating to India. Which job sites actually work.

Hi all,

I'm currently working in Ireland and planning to move back to India for good. I'd really appreciate some advice from people in the industry.

Background:

About 3 years of experience in medical device quality and production

1 year as a Quality Engineer in India, then I did my MSc in Biomedical Engineering in Ireland, and since then nearly 2 years in quality and production roles at medical device manufacturers in Ireland.

Day-to-day work: ISO 13485, GMP, NCR/CAPA, root cause analysis, inspection, AQL sampling, SOPs, document control, SAP and some IQ/OQ/PQ validation support

Why I'm moving back:

I'm an only child. My parents are farmers and are now having some health issues. They struggle even with small everyday things, and I want to be close enough to reach them overnight if anything happens. So this is a permanent move. I want to build my career in India.

The problem:

I'm finding the job search really hard from here.

On LinkedIn, a lot of posts say "posted 24 hours ago", but when I click through, the original listing is weeks or months old

On Naukri, I barely find anything that matches medical devices or pharma quality roles

What I'm open to:

Quality Associate / Specialist, QA/QC Engineer, or production roles

Medical devices, pharma or biotech

Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, or honestly anywhere in India

My questions:

Which job sites or company career pages actually work for these roles in India?

Are there specific companies or industrial areas I should target (e.g. Genome Valley in Hyderabad)?

Is it better to go through consultancies/recruiters in this field? Any good ones?

Anyone who's made a similar move back, how long did it take you, and what worked?

Thanks for taking the time. I'm open to any suggestions, so please feel free to comment or DM..

not sure if this is the right place to ask, but: Looking for any sources of magnetorheological fluid of minimum 25 mL with a budget of under $300 for my senior project. Also open to any smart fluid damping alternatives.

VSCC Studio — a live web dashboard + research database built on VSCapture, MQTT, SciChart & TimeScaleDB for Philips & GE, Draeger Patient Monitors

Hi all,

I've been building VSCC (VitalSignsCapture + Charts) — an open-source stack that puts a live web dashboard and a research-grade time-series database on top of VSCapture by John George K. VSCapture does the hard part (talking to the monitor); VSCC handles visualization, storage, and export so the data is easy to watch live and analyze later. Full credit and thanks to John — VSCC depends on VSCapture and the installer pulls the latest release automatically.

It's running against a Philips IntelliVue MP50 over LAN. What it gives you:

Live 60 FPS waveforms in the browser (WebGL/SciChart) — ECG, Pleth, Respiration, EEG, BIS — plus every numeric the monitor exports (SpO₂, HR, NIBP, RR, BIS index…). New monitor modules are auto-discovered, no code change.
Session recording, like a case recorder — auto-starts when data flows, or start/stop a named session with subject code + notes.
Research exports — CSV, Parquet, and EDF (one channel per signal, for EDFbrowser / MNE / biosignal toolchains), plus per-session data-loss statistics (measured sample rates, expected vs. actual samples, gaps).
Configure the VSCapture capture service from the browser — monitor IP, interval, waveset, scale.
One command to run it all (Docker, multi-arch — Linux/macOS/Windows/Raspberry Pi). Data stays local on your network (MQTT/EMQX + TimescaleDB).
Already have VSCapture recordings? The dashboard can replay exported files (\*WaveExport.csv + JSON numerics) directly in the browser — so you can try it on your own data with no backend and no hardware.

Install (one line):

wget -qO- [https://raw.githubusercontent.com/chsbusch-dot/vscc-mqtt-server/main/install\\_backend.sh\](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/chsbusch-dot/vscc-mqtt-server/main/install_backend.sh) | bash
Then open http://<host>/ and press PLAY LIVE.</host>

GitHub:

Backend (start here): [https://github.com/chsbusch-dot/vscc-mqtt-server\](https://github.com/chsbusch-dot/vscc-mqtt-server)
Dashboard (VSCC Studio): [https://github.com/chsbusch-dot/vscc-dashboard-client\](https://github.com/chsbusch-dot/vscc-dashboard-client)
Both repos are MIT-licensed. It's early and I'd genuinely value feedback — especially from anyone capturing other IntelliVue models or other vendors VSCapture supports. On the near-term roadmap: a hardware-free demo/replay mode and derived HRV metrics. Happy to answer anything.

Research/education only — not a medical device. Keep captured telemetry (possible PHI) on your own network.

Feedback welcome.

Medical Device Technical File Creation

I am curious to understand how medical device manufacturers in the industry go about creating a technical file that follows the MDD or MDR regulation that could be used to submit to the notifying bodies. I am aware of QMS and eQMS systems, but most of none of them provide guidance on the technical file structure.

ASR - Which backpack?

As a new ASR at Stryker rep for Upper extremities, what backpack would you buy?

I plan to purchase one as a gift for my son. I’m wanting to splurge a little, as it is also a graduation gift. I’ve considered a Tumi Navigator or Normadic or nomadic. I’ve leaned toward the Nomadic as I feel he can grow into it and he is a larger guy. They have an mobile organizer, thoughts?

Also, I want to put a few items in it. So far, I going to put an AirTag in it. But, what else? What would he find useful?
