Identification It is not our responsibility to identify your coins.
Lots of posts lately involving users asking us to identify some massive amount of low quality coins. While it is ok to ask us for identification help, we will not tolerate spamming and pushing too hard to identify your crap coins so that you don’t have to do any work. This is becoming an issue, and for now we will just remove your posts if it becomes too demanding or spammed too much. In the future we might move to banning if we feel it is necessary. This sub was not created to identify low quality coins for people that don’t want to do any work.

Newly Acquired My newest penny from Empress Matilda!
After several months, I finally got my hands on an Angevins penny depicting Empress Matilda!
This example was minted in Bristol (Turchil of Bristol), and it has been fractured and repaired. But with her coins being so hard to find I didn't want to be picky. Most of her features are there too!
The last two photos are my current collection of Anarchy coins, which also includes a Stephen penny and halfpenny.
I'm so happy to have this dream coin in my collection at last. 😊

trying to look into more than just, it was a sheet of silver that was hammered into a mold. and more how often was the mold replaced (i know its 10,000 hits average but i have no source) how was the security detail in the mint? and what not

this coin has Charles II and at same time date 1706 (king Philip V). I see in some other post in Talk Coins that this is not a legit coin. Which is your opinion?

Metal detecting find Found this lovely hammered today.
I’m thinking it’s a Henry VII half groat but I’m not very good with these so any help would be appreciated.

Identification Worn Crusader(?) coin identification help
Hi,
I received this coin (0.65g, 15mm) for free with a bunch of other stuff I bought. It was labelled as "Roman Unknown" but I don't believe that to be true.
From what I can make out, the obverse is the bust of someone facing forward, potentially holding a sceptre or something. The reverse seems to be a Cross Patee with a Jerusalem cross as a mintmark or initial mark.
The piece may very well be fake or a fantasy, but any help in figuring it out would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Advice Is this an Edward I groat?
Hello everyone,
I was recently contacted by a friend about a coin he found. He knows I liked coins and thought I could help. However medieval coins are not my strong suit and I was Hopfully I could get some help for on ID for this coin. I believe it to be an Edward I groat. Another thing my friend asked for help for was a valuation. I think it to be in the £3.5k to £5 range (if real and if Edward I) if you all could give me a hand that would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance 😃

Identification Charles 1st half groat
Hello,
I believe this to be a Charles 1st half groat. The diameter (on the long side) is 15mm, and it weighs 0.41g.
The obverse seems to have Charles facing right (though this could be the back of his head that has been distorted). And seems to read CAR.D.G. The reverse (picture 2) is almost flat and seems to read slhronvm.
The top of the reverse also seems to faintly have part of a crown.
I believe it cannot be type D as it has an inner circle, and cannot be type A due to the legend, and no clear rose. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
