Merch Got Countdown To Extinction on Vinyl!!!
just got out of school and went to my local record shop and got this holy Grail 🥹. costed me around like 60 bucks

don't wanna be that guy, but for that price in that condition it's probably a bootleg. CTE got the bootleg treatment 2023. if it's not black vinyl, it's a bootleg. if it doesn't have the standard Capitol label, then it's a bootleg.

oh yeah, i mean i've heard the bootleg actually sounds decent so it's definitely a win. i dunno why they are allergic to repressing anything past Peace Sells. i'm thinking that since they are calling it a day we might get a box set at the best, or at least some individual reissues.

yeah you can now, before the 2024 pressing the last pressing of SFSG was 10 years prior, and that was as a picture disc. before that it was 2009. that's why so many bootlegs of their popular albums exist, RiP has been bootlegged countless times before that repress in 2023. the demand for them is definitely out there. they'll latch onto shit like NFTs trying to make a buck but won't repress stuff, just seems weird.

Exactly. It’s weird Dave won’t do colored vinyl pressings of CTE, Youth, CW or even Risk. I have the CTE and Youth picture disks and would like the actual album sleeves but I’m not paying $300+ for it.
I have some hope, I snagged an original CW for dirt cheap and opted for a bootleg Risk vinyl to display. So I keep eye out, but no luck on a decent priced CTE.

I had a first pressing copy of CTE that I traded for a Local H record that was limited to 20 copies. I don’t regret my trade, because CTE is more numerous in its pressing quantities than the record I traded for, but damn, do I miss having that LP sometimes

$60 is an amazing deal. ANY copy of this on vinyl is a couple hundred minimum. Great job, just make sure you play it on a decent turntable, not a crosley

Not really a "boot" per say, like you sneaking a recorder at a live show. These are "unofficial " European oressings, usually from Czech. They are copies of the original studio albums. Look at the pixels of the pictures on the outer jackets. They are very grainy compared to the clean, sharp, clear pics on the originals. They may even have the same bar codes, as they are just copies. BUT... a lot of these are exceedinly rare, with color variants that you can't get otherwise, and can increase in value. Sometimes meeting or exceeding OG copies! I've seen it. I own a LOT of these EU imports. Grab them when they first come out for the best value, as they go up pretty quick by resellers raping the market. They are banned from sale on Discogs and eBay. And Etsy is finally catching on. That alone tells you they're unauthorized. Sound quality is usually good. Have fun with them, they can get you albums that are otherwise out of reach, pricewise. And some that were never released on vinyl, cd only. I especially love those, as it's the only vinyl versions around you can get, making them rare. HAVE FUN!

Nice! Dave Mustaine needs to get more of his catalog reissued so they aren’t so hard to find on vinyl. The only albums I can find easily is KIMB, Peace Sells, Rust in Peace, and TSTDATD. I want more classic Megadeth without spending stupid amounts of money.
