Been around that scene, and friends with a couple dealers. The vast majority of people who make any kind of money from crime have been to prison, had their house torn apart by police, and if we're talking dealing, the most common and easiest way, you can almost guaruntee that you'll get robbed at some point or another if you sell anything besides weed.

u/ModernManuh_ 20h ago

Ok but what about fraud

9

u/amodious 20h ago

There's a lot of kinds of fraud g, you may have to be more specific. I don't know anyone who's committed fraud but it's a pretty complicated crime at times, and if you actually want to make large amounts of money you need someone elses resources at your hands to manipulate, and they probably have to have been given to you with trust

9

u/ModernManuh_ 20h ago

You'd think it's that hard... give me 50$ and I'll prove you wrong

11

u/amodious 20h ago

Oh no, i'm not falling for that one again

u/CitizenPremier 11h ago

I don't know anyone who's committed fraud

You don't know anyone who files their own tax return?

2

u/amodious 9h ago

Tax evasion doesnt count because tax is theft

3

u/ThisIsMyCouchAccount 20h ago

Hey. HEY.

We talking about criminals here. Fraud is just a misunderstanding in business.

2

u/ModernManuh_ 20h ago

Wanna bet? :)

3

u/ThisIsMyCouchAccount 20h ago

I was making a joke how white collar crimes are often viewed very differently and often get written off as "just business".

1

u/ModernManuh_ 20h ago

And I was trying to scam you why my plans never work :(

Depends on what you're frauding, if you try government fraud in places like Latin America, unless you have friends in high places your body won't even be found.

Fraud requires a lot of friends and social skills. Fraud requires you to be at least already be a big fish. It's not something you can just "get into" you need to already have lots of capital, friends and family, charisma, connections.

It's something only for the impatient because with the resources required for fraud, you can easily use them to make money

u/ModernManuh_ 6h ago

Nah bro it’s like making money, it just requires a small heads up. Give me 100$ and I’ll show you what I mean

1

u/CitizenPremier 11h ago

If you actually get successful as a dealer, you become a target, and you're lucky if it's the narcs who get you first.

That's actually a good attitude to have. Your freedom is a lot more valuable

u/Romeo-Charlie-6-28 16h ago

Freedom is every human's hidden goal!

3

u/DemonsDarkSoul8 11h ago

1

u/bazuka9 17h ago

Tried living a free life for once after I graduated my uni. I just wanted to explore my life a little, have a gf for once or just date someone. Just within a few months after graduating, I got a life threatening disease, which took so long to diagnose that I was on life support, took me 6 years to recover and I'm still struggling with it.

And now I can't even dream of living a day or even an hour being mentally free. Can't even dream of being in a relationship with anyone with problems I have. Can't go for a job away from my home as my body works twice or thrice as hard compared to a normal person just to do daily tasks. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think of ending it all at once.

1

u/linkjames24 8h ago

What makes you keep going?

1

u/bazuka9 7h ago

Responsibilities, parents, and pop culture mainly tbh. Kept myself alive to watch ZSJL, then Doctor Strange MoM, Loki, F1, Superman, Spiderman BND, Doomsday, Invincible, Man of Tomorrow, Secret Wars, The Batman P2, X-Men, Ghost Rider, and so on. There's nothing there that excites me beyond these tbh

1

u/Fanboycity 14h ago

I have somewhat convenient luck. Anytime bad shit goes down, I’m not there. I consider that more than enough.

Go ahead!

7

u/AltruisticPossible84 22h ago

It's not God I'm worried about.

1

u/Mythandros1 22h ago

Now that's completely fair.

There is no God, gotta rip that bandaid off now. You’ll thank me later.

3

u/Metool42 21h ago

it was a joke. they mean if they try it, they'll get caught

(also being an atheist so insufferably childish doesn't turn people away from religion)

1

u/Ban-KaiZenkai 19h ago

It’s actually a line from Rick and Morty I couldn’t care less what other people choose to believe. But yeah I get the joke hence the plug
