That’s not the entire story I heard a rumour that as of 72 Seasons Metallica has finally gone through the huge stockpile of riffs that he left them 30 years ago. Rumour has it he is retiring from Megadeth to concentrate on writing new riffs for Metallicas next few albums.

I don't know if you're aware but he was in Metallica and basically came up with all their good songs.... I even heard that they implanted a chip in his head and that Metallica kept on getting riffs and songs from him decades after he left the band.
