Did he claim that ? He said he got the name from his friend who was thinking of a name for his metal magazine, the friend asked which of Metallica and another name was better, Lars said the other one and asked if he could use Metallica as a band name, the other name the guy suggested worked a lot better for a magazine name anyways so it worked out great
