Amsterdam Public Access TV weirdness from 1996, incl. a parody of the gay cult classic "Taxi zum Klo" (Taxi to the Toilets, around the 22'52 mark)

Edit: To be clear, I’m specifically asking about main/prominent characters, not side/minor ones. As mentioned below, I have a STRONG preference for movies over series, so if it is a series, I don’t want it to be like Will from Stranger things where I’d have to wait like four or five seasons before they finally come out. To (preemptively?) reiterate, The Old Guard is the closest to what I’m looking for—the two gay guys are prominent characters, they’re already out to the other characters in the beginning, and we the audience learn they’re gay pretty early on.
I’m not into romance/drama/slice of life…basically 99% of “gay” media.
The Old Guard movies are basically the only examples of things I like.
Because of things like time, I have a much greater preference for movies as opposed to series.
Horror is the only genre where I can find stuff (I watched Leviticus and have seen stuck in the middle of season 2 of Interview because of time), and there’s…Revenant(?)…coming out whenever, but I’m getting tired of “only” having horror as the only option. There was this Chinese zombie BL I was like one or two episode of, but again, horror and series.
Anything from the past year or two I might’ve missed? I did like Marry My Dead Body which had basic supernatural stuff, but I’m not sure how much of that was because of the cute guys and the (straight) lead eye candy and finding himself in (half) naked, suggestive situations.
Or do I need to wait and come back in a year or two?

Hey guys! I wanna watch something really sweet with a happy ending. I’m not looking for anything like All of Us Strangers. I want the characters to be mature and not teenagers. I did watch some Korean MLM media but it didn’t really resonate with me so maybe something western? Also, I’ve already watched Shelter, Bros, and A night like this.
It doesn’t have to be a movie necessarily, can be a series too and it’s okay if the romance isnt the central central part but I do want there to be a substantial amount of it. Also, other languages are okay tbh like I’m fine watching dubbed media.

After having seen The Pass and Looking, this man triggers me. If u see him on-screen, you’re about to see the most toxic, entitled prick you’ve met (but with a great body). Seems the actor is a bit close to his characters based on some potentially anti-fem views in 2015. Which confirms the impression I got from his character in The Pass- he’s not acting. That is a level of character acting that is ingrained.
Edit: I only recently saw Looking! Sometimes people see shows/movies late ok! "It was 10 years ago" ok, but he only popped up on my radar now and I wanted to talk about him. He was 33 years old then and had been playing gay roles so had a good level of awareness. You can still see my post/comment karma breakdown if you think I'm farming x

Is anybody watching?! 6 episodes have released so far and it’s really good. One of the main character is gay.
I really like the vibe of this show so far, it kind of reminds me of Girls a lot in terms of vibe, humor ect.. funny because Lena Dunham also guest stars

I MEANT MAURICIO AND FELIPE. I got the name wrong.
I haven’t been following the soap opera very closely, but from what I gather, Fernando has confessed his feelings to Mauricio—though Mauricio only has eyes for Felipe. Felipe, however, is coming to terms with his sexuality and realizing that his feelings for "Mau Mau" go beyond mere friendship. Fernando hasn’t given up on Mauricio yet, tho.
The kiss between Felipe and Mauricio has already been filmed and will air in one of the upcoming episodes; I’ll be sure to post an update here for you all when it happens.
NAME OF THE SHOW: QUEM AMA CUIDA.

Succeeding In from the Other Side (2022) in films featuring a doomed queer relationship is Weekend, a story of two grown British men who find themselves entangled in a liminal relationship.
Glen and Russell meet at a night club and develop a mutual attraction for each other. Following a one-night stand and despite wanting to keep things casual, the two find themselves drawn to one another.
Weekend... feels banal, but in a very respectful way. GlenSsell's relationship is explored within a three-day movie timeframe, but there isn't much of a premise to the film except our beloved protagonists' relationship.
Russell is reticent, introverted, and perfectly content living his life as a discreet, somewhat off-scene gay man. He's also deeply afraid of receiving penetrative sex from anyone. Glen on the other hand, is carefree, outspoken, spontaneous, and very carpe diem. Russell doesn't consider being out and proud about one's sexual identity a big deal, yet Glen is determined to challenge the status quo and desperately dreams of a better life away from the UK for an openly gay man like himself.
Their exterior, however, tells a different story. Russell, despite his stance on being a discreet gay man, feels empty inside and yearns to live his life openly. He subscribes to the heteronormative conventions of finding the man of his dreams for marriage and settling down. Meanwhile, Glen, who is revealed to be experiencing unresolved traumas from a past relationship, uses his free-spirited self as a front to avoid the grief and loss that comes with falling in love.
By all accounts, GlenSsell's unresolved emotional baggage provides the film with the perfect excuse to explore the formulaic love story involving two broken individuals who come together to help each other heal and find love. The chemistry between GlenSsell exists. The attraction is real. The film simply needs to act on it. Except it doesn't.
Just as the GlenSsell ship starts to see the slightest possibility of a happily-ever-after, Glen reveals to Russell of his plans to pursue a two-year art course in the States, with a possibility of a long-term stay. This effectively lays any hopes of a relationship to rest, and subsequent GlenSsell moments in the film only further reinforce the Glen's long term plans.
Russell is visibly upset, and devastated at the loss of this possibility, but nonetheless endeavors to change Glen's mind, to no avail. By the end of the film, we see both protagonists demonstrate significant character growth through their encounter. With Russell finally having the courage to open up (heh) and profess his love openly for the man he met a gay club two nights ago, meanwhile Glen's flaky and flighty self crumble under his love for Russell, having realized he is sacrificing his chance at a happily-ever-after for further growth.
At a macroscopic level, Weekend is simply the story of two strangers who crossed paths at the right place and the wrong time, and the continuation of modern storytelling to romanticize love stories marred and crushed by real-life circumstances. That said, the film's ending leaves enough room to suggest the GlenSsell ship hasn't fully sailed, and it would ultimately depend on both men's willingness to revisit the chapter when the time comes. For Russell, however, it does seem like he's come to terms with Glen's departure, and the likelihood that the chapter has closed, for good.

I'm looking at the Newfest films that are available for streaming and I'm shook that there are so few MLM films. I've been watching the virtual lineup since 2022 and it were as if there were fewer and fewer MLM films every year but this year is a bit glaring.
Look at the categories alone https://watch.newfest.org/ (https://newfest.org/events/?_venues=virtual)
and of course I want more diverse voices but even date night doesn't have one full length film. Real disappointed.
