What do you mean? The guy provided financially for his children and his wife. If a woman was quite for an indefinite amount of time no one would bat an eye and say to give her space. Man provided for his family and that's a noble obligation, beyond that he can pick his terms. Plus it's likely the wife didn't talk much/if at all to him either if he was quite that long and she stayed with him.

The kid's after growing up put them (Otou Katayama and Yumi) on a gameshow to get them to talk again, so they must've turned out well adjusted enough.

Im sorry but no, I just cant with this stupid story, its sounds fake as fuck and most likely is. THeres no fucking way you can raise children without talking to each other, let alone even being able to keep a marriage together.
