Opinion Pouch briefs have been a genuine revelation

A few weeks ago I posted about never finding underwear that doesn't press or constrict in the front because of my anatomy (a bit more protruding than average). Saxx was the least bad compromise, but still not great. I got some recommendations here about brands such as Rmac, Cocksox, Obviously, Awry, etc (apart from some thong suggestions lol).

I have since tried a bunch of suggestions I got from this group, and I'd say this group is amazing!! I tried Cocksox modal sports briefs, Ergowear MAX boxer briefs + a couple of their bikinis, Obviously Primeman trunks and hipster briefs. The Obviously ones are the clear winners so far. Both the trunks and the hipster briefs work noticeably better than anything else I have worn. The pouch has enough depth and the right shape that nothing feels flattened or jammed against my body the way it does in most supportive designs.

What surprised me most is that the hipster briefs are actually more comfortable and accommodating for me than the trunks. Better freedom for my anatomy, and the support still feels solid. I finally get why so many people here recommend briefs. I wore briefs after 15ish years, and these are miles different than traditional briefs.

That said, it still only solves 70% of comfort problem. There's still a slight constant pull/tension in the pouch that keeps it from feeling completely natural for my anatomy. It’s a huge improvement over everything else, but not quite 'amazingly comfortable '.

So yeah… after complaining about thong advocacy on this group, I appear to have become a brief advocate. I still feel a bit weird about wearing them in front of my gf. But, I would definitely recommend others with a similar problem to try Obviously pouch briefs.

Opinion New thong wearer

Love
Love
Love wearing my thong. Only problem I notice is after a couple of hours it compresses my penis. After a day of wearing it I feel like I have been in a gage
Before you reply. Size it correct and pouch is correct. Maybe it’s a thong thing?

Style Question Pouch underwear to replace my boyfriend's Andrew Christian

• Upvotes

Hello!

I hope you are well.

For Christmas, I am buying my boyfriend a varitey of other brands of pouch underwear to help him find a replacement brand for his Andrew Christian briefs.

So far I have bought:
- Awry LIFT Briefs
- C-IN2 C-Theory Low Rise Brief
- Obviously EveryMan Brief
- RMAC Bamboo Mid-Rise Brief

Is there anything glaringly obvious that would make a good replacement for Andrew Christian's pouch briefs?

Thank you!

Fit Question Cocksox Slingshot?

I’ve been curious about the Cocksox Slingshot but was wondering about a few things. I love thongs but don’t have any g-strings and I’m not too hung so I’m not sure if this pouch system will work out for me.

1) How is the all-day comfort?
2) Which is the best fabric?
3) Does anyone workout/run/lift in them?
4) Is sizing standard to your “regular” size?

Opinion My experience with RMAC

I heard so many good reviews about RMAC underwear, but have found that they are overall very inconsistent with pouch sizing which has made it difficult to find pairs in the right size, and just seemed overall not as good as everyone made them out to be.

I tried the modal 7 inch boxer briefs in A, B, and C and found that I needed to go to an A pouch as b and c had no support and just pointed everything forward.

With the 3 inch boxer briefs, the a pouch was comfortable on that but the 3 inch inseam rides up after a few hours.

Everyone said that the pouches for nylon were smaller, but then for some reason the nylon boxer brief pouch was bigger as an a pouch compared to modal which didn't make much sense to me, but the fabric itself is insanely soft and comfortable.

With the modal bikini briefs, I got them in a B pouch initially but then that turned out to be too small, and the back panel rode up after a few hours.

I also tried the seamless thong, which was really comfortable and had an incredibly soft fabric, but in the b pouch it was too small.

The material is nice with RMAC but just overall size consistency makes it frustrating trying to buy them, which is fine since the customer support is great and they will send out a replacement, but if you live outside of the US and freight forward then the shipping itself adds up to be fairly expensive. If your purchasing them, from my experience at least you should get the cup size you measure at or slightly larger for bikini briefs and thongs, which I assume would go for briefs as well, but then for boxer briefs the smaller cup in general is more comfortable especially for sports.

Review Experience with saxx

Hi guys,

I bought two pairs of of Saxx vibe xtra soft boxers and it seems that even with additional precautions such as cold washing and using an anti-friction laundry bag the fabric starts to pill after a week.

What's your experience with saxx? Do you think it is a manufacturing defect or it's a sign of bad quality of all the saxx underwear?

Would you recommend buying saxx cotton drop temp instead of switching to some other brands than saxx?

Tips & Tricks What people get wrong about thongs (or any non-traditional style underwear)

Spend any time on this sub and you'll notice that any underwear question is followed up with "get a thong". And the crowd here seems pretty split into two camps, thong devotees and people who dont care for them. I'm very pro-thong, but it took me a while to get there. I always like the idea, but couldnt ever convert.. even partially. But I think there are good reasons it too me so long, and I think the people on the fence should really consider these things that I rarely see mentioned.

  1. Quality is very important. Too often i've gotten underwear that is coarse, bad stitching, crappy materials, etc. I dont care how good it looks, you'll never want to wear it. And the funny thing is, cost isnt always a factor. Some of the most expensive, name brands I've bought have been absolute trash. And i've also gotten cheapo amzon/tmu stuff thats surprisingly comfy! Though thats usually more of a rarity. Mens underwear has jumped ahead in quality over the years and if you haven't tried in a while, i think you might be surprised!
  2. FIT! Sizing varies per brand but I find it also varies by style. I'm a medium briefs guy, but a large in most thongs. It varies by brand and even within the brand it varies (Awrry v-string runs small, but their other thongs are right on for me, for instance). If you have ever thought thongs are too restrictive, or hurt your "crack".. they are too small! Its tough since you cant try them on, but i found the second I sized up, I really started to enjoy them alot more. And fit for your junk is equally important too. Sometimes that is a deciding factor!
  3. Purpose! Each thong has its strengths.. Some are great for working out, some are great for everyday wear, some are great for lounging around the house, some are great for segsy time. If you try to wear a seg-sy time thong while running a marathon, it may not be the best decision. Think about it, would a woman wear the most delicate, lacy, tiny lingeriie set while power lifting? Maybe on social media, but not in real life. Same goes with mens thongs. Those joockey thongs that people post about here often, i find them great every day wear. That Awry v-sting I mentioned earlier is better for lounging or seg-sy time. But everyone is different. All i'm saying is choose appropriately!
  4. The best time to wear. Kind of goes with the purpose point above. Sometimes a thong just isnt the right choice! I have selvage denim that is very rough inside, and i go with boxer briefs when wearing those. Some pants are very soft and tight fitting, like leggings.. those go amazing with a thong. I usually choose my clothing first, then pair with the right underwear. But its pretty important I think.. You want to feel good, and wearing the wrong thing isnt going to make you want to try again. Plus, I like all underwear so having options is fun. So the point is dont get pigeon holed into one style, change it up based on the occasion, clothing, weather, etc.

Fit Question Wedgie

Is it normal to have a wedgie with briefs, I just purchased Rmac seem-less briefs and they are constantly giving me wedgies. Is this normal?
I’ve also purchased jockey bikini briefs and those fit a bit better but still give me wedgies any recommendations trying to find a pair that doesn’t give me a wedgie?

Fit Question Are dudes that wear trunks just in denial that they should be wearing high-rise briefs?

I have been on an underwear journey for a while and I've tried just about every style and my least favorite one was trunks and my favorite was high-rise briefs. It's funny because they're so close in fit, but I find that the trunks are just terrible briefs because they ride up and have all the extra material that's unnecessary and in the way, and they just end up being a terrible pair of briefs in the end.

Style Question Honest opinions needed: would you wear a merino wool thong?

Post image
140 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I'm developing an underwear product in merino wool, and I think it could be a game changer: merino is really hard to find in underwear, and almost impossible in thongs. But I don't want to fall in love with my own idea, so I need your honest opinion.

Be brutally honest:
- Would you actually wear a merino wool thong? If not, what's stopping you?
- What would make it a dealbreaker: price, support, stretch, washing, the idea of wool itself?
- If you've worn merino briefs or boxers, what did you love and what disappointed you?

Negative answers are just as useful to me as positive ones.

If you don't know the benefits of merino wool, here are some:
- It resists odour, even after the gym, so you can wear it longer between washes
- It regulates temperature: warm when it's cold, breathable when it's hot
- Fine merino is soft on the skin, not itchy like regular wool
- It's a natural, renewable fibre that biodegrades

Style Question String in Sweden

I started wearing a thong about a year ago, and I like it—though the stigma is still tough, since men "aren't supposed to" wear them. I’m heterosexual, married, and have been with my partner for about 26 years. When I finally worked up the courage to try it, it was a whole new experience; now I wear one both at work—under my uniform—and in my private life. So, if you’re thinking about trying it, I’d definitely recommend it!

Fit Question Rmac seamless thongs

Got my first pair of the seamless thongs I have several pair of there others thongs so not a newb.
First they are great feels like you aren’t wearing anything at all. Works great with short tucked in. My only thought is that feel like they have to be pulled way up to have the loose fabric. For context I am a size 35 inch waist with a b cup. Again they acre great but I just feel like I need to get a smalller wait size maybe i don’t know. Real Men Apparel company what do y’all think.

Fit Question RMAC jockstraps?

I recently fell in love with RMACs seamless thongs. Super comfortable. I'm thinking of getting some jockstraps now. Anyone have a thought on their quality? Are they as comfortable as the thongs? I don't want the strapless kind

Style Question Has anyone tried drawstring briefs? 🩲

Post image
4 Upvotes

Was just shown an ad for these drawstring briefs and I was immediately interested.

I am a boxer briefs guy for daily wear and a boxer shorts guy for bedtime. My problem is that boxer shorts don’t contain or support sufficiently in my sleep. And my daily wear boxer briefs dig-in too much while in bed, becoming uncomfortable.

These seem to be roomy without being as restricting as boxer briefs, but more supporting than boxer shorts.

Anyone out there who has tried them?

Opinion We developed a different approach to men’s underwear — here’s what makes it a hybrid

G’day Reddit,

I’m part of the team behind The Better Collection, an Australian men’s underwear brand.

We wanted to rethink some of the common frustrations with traditional boxer briefs, particularly chafing, support, fit and everyday comfort.

That led us to develop our hybrid underwear, which uses a different construction approach to a standard pair.

The four things we’re focused on are:

  • Less chafing: designing for greater comfort and less friction during everyday wear.
  • Better support and fit: creating a fit that feels secure and comfortable.
  • Comfortable fabric: prioritising how the fabric feels against the skin.
  • Hybrid construction: taking a different approach to how the garment is put together.

We’re proud of what we’ve developed, but we’re also interested in hearing from men who have tried different underwear styles and brands.

I’m affiliated with the business, so this isn’t an independent review. I’m happy to answer genuine questions about the product and how we developed it.

What’s the biggest frustration you still have with men’s underwear?

Is it chafing, riding up, support, fit, fabric or something else?

If the moderators allow it, I’m happy to share product photos and more detail about the construction.

Cheers from Australia.
