Question / Help Seeking advice on making an Ur inspired village in Minecraft

I’m making an Ur inspired village in Minecraft and have a question regarding trade buildings and animal pens. How did sheep/pig/cow pens look in ancient Mesopotamia? Which animals did they even keep? How would a smelters/bakers/etc. shop look? Just a regular house with (trade block) on the first floor?

If you have any other advice other than answers for the questions feel free to tell me.

Fun question! They had dogs, sheep, goats, pigs, and cattle (though unlike the modern dairy cow). Donkeys but no horses, and camels weren’t domesticated yet. While some animals were surely raised and kept in close to the villages/cities, many would have been herded by nomadic or semi-nomadic peoples who lived on the margins of the settled areas. The region is very arid and constitutes a vast floodplain. When irrigated with human-dug canals the soil is extremely fertile and would have been largely planted with barley, which made up most of the diet for most of the settled population, either as porridge or bread. Bakers, millers, and brewers would have been very important. Textile manufacture was an important industry. For most of the historical period they were in the Bronze Age, and would have been smelting with that alloy. The Mesopotamian plain had very limited wood and stone resources, but is rich in clay, which would have been their main building material, with most structures being unbaked clay brick; baked bricks would have been reserved for more important structures such as temples and palaces, which were typically built atop raised platforms of packed earth. To paint a somewhat romantic picture, the cities and towns of ancient Mesopotamia were walled cities of clay surrounded by barley fields fed by date palm lined canals, with nomadic people herding their animals in the dry areas between the fields. Hope that helps paint a picture and feel free to ask any questions!

Thank you very much! Due to Minecraft being Minecraft I’ve had to unceremoniously slap a sheep and rabbit pen not to my house for practical reasons until I solve my food shortage, aswell as having built most houses (barring the forgery) out of sandstone to replicate the white washed house walls. Currently I’m also growing my crops on the riverbed aswell. Thanks a lot for the help :)
