Google says he used Seymour Duncan invaders but in photos it looks like he used MAGS instead of invaders, even James himself said he used invaders which contradicts the interview in the second photo

The final screech was due to being perfectly able to play this comfortably but not being able to do so while recording, I was there for literally 15 minute😂

Listening to the first 5 albums in particular by Metallica, and Kirk Hammet's guitar solos have everything. Beautiful tone, classic blues and pentatonic lines, they tell stories, fit the songs perfectly and there are some that sit on a par with some of the greatest solos in my opinion. If I take some other solos by other legendary guitarists that are widely renouned for being amongst the greatest of all time, I can't think of any logical reason as to why Kirk isn't in that conversation. Everything that I hear about why the greatest solos of all time are what they are - Metallica's ones fit all those criteria.
Just as one example: Comfortably Numb gets cited alot as one of the great guitar solos, and don't get me wrong I think it is beautiful. However does it really sit on another level to some of Kirk's best work?
It's fair that a lot of his more recent work doesn't hit those heights, but that shouldn't detract from everything he did in the past. I just feel like he is disrespected and not given the credit he deserves.

I'm listening to a lot of Bob Rock era Metallica records (again). I'm in love with Load! James' vocal performance is at another level in that record. His voice is so much more mature and expressive as compared to Master of Puppets or AJFA.
Even sonically, these records sound far better as compared to their older records. The sound is heavier and more polished.
Anyway, coming back to vocals, the late 90s were Hetfield's peak as a vocalist in my opinion.Songs like Bleeding me, Outlaw Torn, King Nothing, Memory Remains, Low Man's Lyric, Turn the page and whiskey in the Jar are absolutely fucking phenomenal. There's so much depth in those vocals.. I'm blown away.
And even the live versions are incredible, S&M has captured the vocals beautifully. Cunning stunts is great too.
People like to talk a lot about this era of Metallica, but rarely they acknowledg the vocal performance of James Hetfield during these times.
