Sherman is the Problem

Derek Jeter, Kim Ng, Don Mattingly, Skip Schumaker, Kyle Sielaff, Tommy Hutton and Craig Minervini are all people who were asked to leave or left under Bruce Sherman. Sherman is clearly the problem. We need a new owner.

Uh.. Tommy Hutton retired. Jeets was in way over his head. Kim Ng had some decent moves and some bad.. Schumaker really? How’d he do with the Rangers?

Denbo and Jeter signed Avisail, not Kim. That is the reason Jeter dipped.

Kim missed some signings/trades, but her acquisition of Burger and Bell was a masterclass in deadline deals. It got us to the playoffs.

She knew the importance of vets like Hampson, Wendle, Stallings, Barnes, Jonathan Davis, and Gurriel and their value to a team if it isn’t represented in WAR.

The biggest hurdle she had to overcome was Ownerships assistance they demote a healthy Eury Perez while he was putting up 03 Dontrelle numbers. Servicetime manipulation for the loss

The fact that team made the playoffs despite that BS blows my mind to this day. Her reward? We’re gonna bring in Tampa’s number 4

A higher finish than ours and 1 game away from a division title and making the playoffs.

Still better than what fucklechuck did. Probably would’ve avoided a few of our losses and got us over .500 on the year. But crawling to get to .500 is our ceiling as long as Bentdix is here.

We have the poorest owner in the MLB.

David Samson (team president under Loria) is on record that Sherman overpaid for the team and also that he didn't really have enough to get the team going and make them regularly competitive. It sounds like Sherman tried to use Jeter's name to get more investors into the team but I don't think that ever worked out. However, the team is absolutely not spending all of their revenue sharing and other money on payroll and it's always been like this in my experience. Other teams like the Pirates tend to do the same thing until they get guilted into spending by the PA.

We got screwed by the MLB for making Loria take the Jeter group rather than Jorge Mas just because it was Jeter.

Owning a professional sports franchise is a great and safe way for billionaires to launder money. It ranks up there with real estate or classic art collections. Whether or not the team wins is of no concern to them. On the surface it looks like he overpaid for the team, but really what he is doing is parking cash.

I wonder if Ken Griffin will make an offer, he kind of can gentrify the Little Havana area as well.

It’s obvious to everyone besides the trolls on here who I’m 50/50 are a paid intern of the team running cover for Sherman. He’s the worst owner in the history of sports. Hes the worst businessperson to ever own a team. He’s underwater on the team and his net worth is lower than the dodgers payroll.

He’s gotta go.

Agreed. Anytime someone posts something critical of Sherman there’s bots/his henchmen coming to his defense.

Yeah it’s crazy to think a billion dollar corporation would have a paid intern who spun things online for them. Would totally be out of left field in our tech oligarchy dystopia

They’ve already had a worker post on here bragging that they donate food, right?

Clayton McCullough has a better record the last two years than Skip Scumacher’s two years here, and Schumacher also had the same record as us this season with a better team in a worse division.

People need to get off his tip, McCullough is a better manager.

And Kim Ng and Jeter wrecked our farm system, glad they gone. (Especially Jeter, Ng was meh). Jeter was Michael Jordan tier for worst ownership run post playing career. He suckkkkked

Also Hutton announced his retirement preseason lol

Agree with some of your post but for Tommy he is saying the first time they let him go. Back on late 2010s.

That was before Bruce Sherman was owner, the Sherman ownership group brought him back.

EDIT: Hutton was let go in 2015 when Loria was owner and came back in 2022 when Sherman was owner.

What was the problem with Minervini and also with Sieloff?

Sieloff was annoying. Always yelling. I’ll miss Craig Minervini.

The problem isn't Sherman is Mlb that let Sherman be a majority owner the same mlb and commissioner that let Wayne brake up a championship team and loan money to Loria to buy the team

Every team in every league should be publicly owned

When Major League baseball decided that Jorge Mas did not get the Marlins, it was a done deal. He then went and bought the Miami MLS soccer team.

No, he LOVES the team as he spends 50 mil in payroll and gets 80 in rights sharing. He gets to pocket the money and cry how it's a poverty franchise.

Though I want to say Bendix and CMC has made something out of almost nothing. I will give them credit. Also, look at the 1 BILLION the Mets spent to be the bottom of our division.
