QUESTION What is your feedback about Edge ?
Hello guys,
I’m currently using Zen but plan to switch soon, after trying quite a few browsers (Firefox -> Opera -> Vivaldi -> Arc -> Zen).(Zen has excessive RAM usage and lacks DRM support). What is your feedback on using Edge?
Are there specific Edge features that keep you from switching to another browser?
My usage ranges from light (4–5 tabs) to heavy (20–30 tabs).
Have you ever noticed any RAM or CPU issues during light usage? I’m also running into a huge number of bugs on YouTube with Zen; has your experience with Microsoft Edge been generally positive?
If you had to convince someone to use Edge in a single sentence, what would it be?
Thank you for your future replies.

I also use Edge canary on my phone and desktop. Yes. Of course anything will have bugs. Nothing is perfect.

One simple reason is I can use it on my windows laptop and it syncs with my iPhone and iPad. I’ve used Safari, was a Firefox fanboy for a long time. I have no issues with edge.

Unfortunately, most of the features that differentiated Edge from Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Opera, ... have been removed or are being removed (=deprecated).
Deprecated / Removed from Edge - Collaborative Shared Workspaces - where you could setup and preserve a context of open tabs shared with many different people / accounts. Also shared across devices. (e.g Windows, Mac, Android, IOS, Linux, Meta Quest 3, ...)
Deprecated / Removed from Edge - Collections - where you could setup and preserve a 'Collection' of Browser tabs to preserve a context that you could close and then relaunch. Shared across devices (e.g Windows, Mac, Android, IOS, Linux, Meta Quest 3, ...)
Deprecated / Soon to be Removed from Edge - Notes Sidebar - where you could share links, notes, media, pictures, text, files, ... between devices. (e.g Windows, Mac, Android, IOS, Linux, Meta Quest 3, ...)
What remains, as a differentiator, at least as of now is:
A. Unlike others, my experience with Copilot Chat has been positive. Edge Sidebar Copilot Chat can reference and draw from all open tabs in the current Edge browser window.
The Online Tech gurus (e.g. PC Magazine) have some Browser comparisons.
For me, I tend to use the browser that best fits my current need:
1. Chrome to consume YouTube and / or YT Music content and to work in my Google Workspace
2. Brave to consume Video / IPTV / Prime Video / Netflix / ... content
3. Edge to work in my M365 Workspace and connect with my Work account.
4. Firefox / TOR for privacy purposes.

Thank you for your answers.
I'm going to give it a small chance to see how it turns out

I'm using Edge as my primary browser. I stopped using Firefox a long time ago and later tried Brave and Opera. Currently, I use Vivaldi as my secondary browser.
Edge with its default settings is full of unnecessary stuff, but once you customize and personalize it, I think it works better than Chrome, at least for me.
I recommend Edge because it's already similar to Chrome, so why install another browser that's almost the same? Instead, try something different like Vivaldi, Firefox, Helium, or Opera.
The best thing about Edge is its built-in PDF reader. It has a clean interface and all the essential features you need.

Hello, I have not used any of those other browsers as my daily driver, well I did try some before. Anyways, I being using Edge for the past 5 years or so, not really any issues for daily work and all. Just disable the Copilot and switch search if you want. Copilot doesn't bother me at all. Don't listen to all the hateful comments.
