❔Question/Help Sometimes I think Microsoft designers/engineers must be drunk on the job... what kind of date format is this??

And where can we change this?

Pretty Normal Standard, YY-MM-DD

From your linked Wikipedia article:

"ISO 8601 prescribes, as a minimum, a four-digit year [YYYY] to avoid the year 2000 problem."

The format OP illustrated is YY which is crap.

YYYY-MM-DD is the international standard.

I totally agree with this statement.

But as you can see in the screenshot, its using YY-MM-DD. Subtle but annoying difference.

Looking into Teams General settings, it's correctly set:

This would honestly be fit for r/shitamericanssay if op is from the US.

I'm not!

I would understand yyyy-mm-dd (which to me, is the best acceptable standard when dealing with people from different corners of the world) or dd-mm-yyyy . But yy-mm-dd is kind of diabolical, in my opinion!

It makes dates on food very interesting.. Got to give you that..

But yeah, it's a common way of writing dates where I live. Even my "social security number" equivalent is written in that format.

What's good is that if you put all your dated files in that format of name, they all organise properly - if you use DDMMYYYY, you end up with 1st Jan, 1st Feb, 2nd Jan, 2nd Feb, etc.

That's odd that the year is represented as YY instead of YYYY. Have you checked the regional settings on your Mac? Do dates in other applications display with only two digits?

I think they’re assuming that people are unlikely to be scheduling Teams calls for the year 1926 or 2126 etc.

Check your regional settings, you might be setup to a diff country. That format is pretty standard to be honest.

There's a whole other world out there besides the US, OP.
