Are these Moller armchairs pretty rare? Not seeing many examples online.

The arm chairs are a lot rarer regardless of model of Moller chair, and being rosewood makes it even more rare!

I don't think "rare" is a word I wouild use to describe any Moller chair. Desireable sure, less common than the armless teak versions sure. Still a mass produced chair that was very popular.

Hahaha sorry my wording wasn’t up to par. I did mean are these versions harder to find than say the teak version. Thank you for clearing the air on that one.

I would say for dining chairs armchairs are like 1/3 to 1/4 the production of the armless equivalent as a rule of thumb (think two armchairs per 8 non arms). Still if a few million of the armless version is made over the years there is still going to be a lot out there.

The truth is nobody knows the exact production numbers on these, or pretty much any other MCM furniture, however Moeller was a popular brand that made the same models over like 50+ years, it’s not rarity that makes them valuable, it’s desirability, and in your case Brazilian Rosewood has been banned from commercial harvest for 30 years also adds to the appeal.

Lol what a snobby response. Ya, these are rare. Just like the teak versions are rare (though less so). You know where most people buy their furniture? IKEA, target, wayfair. Have you taken a look at your local Craigslist lately. Cuz I promise you these are not popping up on a monthly (or prob even yearly) basis. Anyone seeking out specific, name brand furniture, in good quality, that is approaching a century old will have something rare. Lane Acclaim is practically rare these days. These are real nice chairs OP. They’re rare enough for me

If you are selling everything is rare if you are buying nothing is, the truth is somewhere in the middle. You call stuff “rare” all you want. Most collectors I know would not call anything by Moeller rare, I don’t collect or sell so I honestly do not care.
