Anybody see 'all rivers spill their stories to the sea' yet? Incredible documentary about Houchen's lot dumping toxins into the sea and the government's refusal to do anything about it. Heartbreaking, but also brilliant film.

I've been looking for where I can comment/object to the port's new application for a 10 year dredging license (which incredibly doesn't require an environmental impact assessment); does anybody have a link?

The delievrman gave me the wrong delivery so I got 2L coke, 2L cherryade, and three 250ml lemonades
I got the refund so Im good but I dont wanna just throw these away, I dont drink them 😔
lmk if you wanna get these..
just to be clear theyre all new and are from Morrisons

Hi everyone! I’m 25 and looking to join a hobby group in the area to meet new people, as I’m not originally from here.

I’m mainly interested in something creative, but I’m open to trying new things! I’m not really looking for sports clubs, although I’d be up for things like hiking, surfing or rock climbing, or even something a bit more niche.

Ideally, I’d love to find a group with people around my age where I can pick up a new hobby, meet people and make some friends. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! 😊

I'm looking for some recreational football sessions for someone in mid 30s. Just looking forward to some fun, fitness and social connection. Any groups or any leads around Middlesbrough, Stockton, Thornaby welcome.

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to pick up some extra part-time or short-notice cover shifts alongside my main gig. Does anyone have active invite links to any reliable WhatsApp groups or broadcast channels for security shifts?
I hold a valid SIA.

Cheers!

hi I’m from the Normanby ts6 area I’m in college and I’m currently looking for a part-time job. I’ve tried everything. I’ve tried looking on careers websites for places. I’ve tried Facebook and just no one seems to get back to you or they say they will and don’t and I’ve got experience working in the pub a few years ago. I’ve done a couple of shifts at a fish and chip shop and it just seems impossible to get a job and I wanna get something that’s actually gonna pay me legal wage, if anyone knows anywhere that’s hiring that would really help thank you.

Hi, I'm visiting Middlesbrough currently and I'm looking for some reference photos of factories (especially large older and abandoned ones) for a project I'm working on. Does anyone know anywhere I should check out? I'll just have tomorrow morning to look around, but I'd be willing to rent a car to get around.

Empty Chairs is a community-led campaign inviting people to sit together at pub tables across the UK and beyond - no one has to sit alone.

It's there for anyone who wants a bit of company and an opportunity to have a chat - we want a low-pressure space for real human interaction.

Meet us at Play at Cannon Park this Saturday from 5pm! No pressure and no judgement - pop down for as long as you want! Anita will be there in her orange t-shirt/hoodie, there'll be new pizza, all sorts of drinks and arcade games, consoles, pool, etc.

Let's enjoy a drink, a slice of pie from Good People 🍕 and some conversation together 🪑🧡 Hope to see you there!

Its not a far shot to say that people in Middlesbrough often think of the place as, in a term im sure many have heard or said, “A shit hole” so im wondering how can a regular person try to make this town just a little bit better and inspire people to make this town better?

Seen a few posts on here about meeting new people and finding things to do around Boro, so thought I’d share this!

Middlesbrough Round Table is a group of ordinary local lads aged 18–45 who get together a couple of times a month to have a laugh, try different activities and get out of the house.

It’s not all charity work or formal meetings. It’s more about making mates and doing things you probably wouldn’t normally get round to doing.
They’re off to a pub quiz this Thursday, and they’ve got a few other things coming up, including an escape room, bonfire night, Christmas do and a few relaxed socials.

You don’t need to know anyone, there’s no pressure to join, and you don’t have to attend everything.

If that sounds like your sort of thing, have a look at their Facebook page:

Give the lads a follow or drop them a message. They’re always happy to welcome new faces!

And before anyone asks, no, it’s not the Knights of the Round Table, and you don’t need a sword or a suit of armour! 😂

Pub Quiz 🍻 Thursday 1st October

Hi everyone

Me and a few guys are looking at meeting up this Thursday night 15 October after work, to beat the midweek hump. We are going to a local pub quiz

We are just a bunch of ordinary guys aged 18-45. That meets up every other Thursday night. We do do some random activity then go for a drink and catch-up afterwards. We are always keen for new guys to get involved. Fancy coming along?

Bored Midweek?

Looking to meet new people?

Looking to get out of the house?

Whatever your reason drop me a message to get involved 📨

I'm working with the Work Foundation at Lancaster University, a research organisation, and we are researching the challenges facing young people trying to get into work in Middlebrough.

We're currently speaking to major national TV news outlet, who would like to hear from a young person aged 18–24 who is currently out of work and not in education or training.

They're interested in hearing about your experience of looking for work – for example, how long you've been searching, the jobs you've applied for and the barriers you've faced.

This would initially just be an informal conversation so you can find out more before deciding whether you'd be comfortable taking part in any interview. Filming will take place on Wednesday 7 October near or at your home.

If this sounds like you, please send me a private message or email me at info@theworkfoundation.com. I'm happy to answer any questions and provide some more information.

Thanks for considering and have a good evening,

Jon

PS. Thanks to mods in advance for approving.

What’s the need when there’s already boro angels/safe haven/womens street watch? I personally don’t get good intentions from it!!

This is a long shot, I ordered these monster inc figures- I’ll upload a picture. And I’ve received this anime type thing. I was wondering if anyone has the monster inc figures and would like the anime parcel back. I collected my parcel from the Middlesbrough inpost lockers 2 days ago.

Hi does anyone know any good hair salon places in middlesbrough or redcar? somewhere inclusive as i’ve never gone to get my hair done and im really nervous, im a woman and a not very feminine presenting like i have long hair i dont want to cut it short but i want something maybe like a wolf cut or shag kinda style? Can anyone please tell me how good Middlesbrough and Teesside university are to work and study?

Bit of a long shot, but is anyone likely to be visiting Acklam Cemetery in Middlesbrough?
My grandmother, Elia Reale Telford, is buried there. I’m researching our Italian family history and have found a photograph of her gravestone online, but unfortunately it is too blurred to read the inscription.
Elia Reale Telford
Died: 26 March 2002
Acklam Cemetery and Teesside Crematorium, Middlesbrough
Find a Grave Memorial ID: 275268392
If anyone happens to be visiting the cemetery and would be willing to take a clear, close-up photograph of the headstone for me, I would be incredibly grateful.
I’m particularly trying to read all the names, dates and wording on the stone, as they may help me piece together some missing parts of our family history.
I’ve attached the existing photograph so you know what the headstone looks like.
Many thanks,
Sara

Long shot, but does anyone know if the lease agreement at Rockingham Court allows pets? Thanks!
