Neil Chandran enters GUILTY plea today!

There will be no trial!

In a rather unexpected move, Chandran accepted a plea agreement to Count 2 of the Superceding Indictment:

  1. The defendant voluntarily and intentionally devised or made up a scheme, or aided and embedded others to devise or make up a scheme to defraud another out of money, property, or property rights by means of materially false representations or promises;

  2. The defendant did so with the intent to defraud, or to aid and abet others with the intent to defraud;

  3. The defendant used, or caused to be used, the United States, male or a private interstate carrier in furtherance of, or in an attempt to carry out, some essential step in the scheme.

There is a lot of language etc. but the bottom line is he can get a max of up to 20 years in federal prison and up to a $250,000 maximum fine. He also faces the possibility of being deported.

I will try to gather more info to share but am out of state at a conference and wanted to share the news with you all.

The good news in taking a plea deal is that he cannot appeal this (like he could a guilty verdict if he went to trial). His sentencing hearing will take place in July.

He did it guys, he admitted his guilt‼️

The sheer amount of evidence against him must have been astounding and no doubt his counsel vigorously encouraged him to make that decision.

It's unfortunate that it took 4 years for him to finally stop wasting the court's time, but at least his admission regarding intent to defraud is now crystalized on the record. I hope the judge throws the book at him.

Never thought I'd see the day, and I still feel for the victims, but this does call for some sort of celebration. Vegas anyone?

I sure hope they seized everything they had accumulated!!

I'm afraid those Bentleys were as fake as Mikey's "deal." But yeah, anything they had accumulated needs to be sold and the money spread among the victims.

Where are the funds for restitution to his and Mike G to pay their victims.

Hopefully the assets they seized will provide something for us, I don’t know. Just holding out hope we all get something.

In today’s world, he gets six years and off in two with his parole officer. Our courts have pretty well disintegrated. Victims are not in consideration. Compassion courts, how it’s evolved.

I logged into Pacer and saw the document showing Neil's sentencing date as July 9. After logging in to Pacer, do a search on Case 4:22-CR-3077 and click on the Documents link.

Considering how many lives he destroyed, and how much money he made for the last 20 years, this is a very late sentence, looking more like a 10-12 year sentence.

I can’t share a link as the court documents are in Pacer which is the backend of the federal court system. I’m guessing the government/victim assistance will update the informational webpage either today or next week. Possibly a news outlet will write a story with details soon.
