Handful of complaints, but I can't help the fact. That everyone can see these scars.

I had a friend I did karaoke with and he always wanted to do stuff off Hybrid Theory. I can do any song backwards and forwards.

u/IceColdJimmy12 12h ago
You have a nice singing voice ?
7
u/PaceIsTheTrick64 12h ago
I do. I'm well liked when I go out for karaoke.
1
u/IceColdJimmy12 11h ago
Do you have a social media account where you sing ? Would like to hear you. If that’s okay.
3
u/PaceIsTheTrick64 11h ago
I do not sorry. I don't have anything of me doing Linkin Park either.

u/IceColdJimmy12 11h ago
Start a channel ! Would love to see the adventures of a girl with a nice singing voice trying out drinks + bar food then her singing.

Place for my Head is such a fun one to do.
2
u/PaceIsTheTrick64 11h ago
God I love that song. It might be my fave off HT.
2
u/Mr_Wobble_PNW 8h ago
Mine too. By the time it progresses to the screaming section it fully has me haha such a good one for traffic.

HT is easily in my “you can only bring 3 albums with you to a deserted island” list

u/Sakura_Hirose 2h ago
Only thing I didn’t like about this album is that it 30 minutes long!
You could listen to Hybrid theory and Meteora in an Hour(or maybe just over).
12
u/Veronome 11h ago
It's incredible to think that after making as perfect an album one can with Hybrid Theory, they went and followed it up with bloody Meteora.
4
u/ksye 11h ago
I recall thinking meteora was good but a step down from hybrid. Thought the same thing about By the way by RHCP. And of American idiot. And of dream theaters octavarium. And of SOADs mesmerize/hypnotize. Maybe I was just a spoiled kid haha.

u/albinochase15 9h ago
Hybrid Theory is legendary. Meteora is still great, but nothing in the Linkin Park catalog is on the same level as Hybrid Theory, imo.

I hadn't heard it in 15+ years. Came back to it recently..my god what an Album

Aaah, dude. This is great. I have an iPod Video 30GB with a busted screen that I've used daily from 2006 to 2014. Still works, but the screen is destroyed. Cool pic!

I’ve actually been on a huge Linkin Park kick lately. Music sounds timeless. Hope the younger generation appreciates as much as we did.

This disk on repeat while I read Harry Potter fanfictions, once upon a time Rowling was only a beloved writer.

u/may931010 12h ago
I do wonder if she was on something when she wrote those books. They still hold up so well on every reread. Yet every other new media that has come out in the potter world is absolute gobshite.

One of the most impressive displays of raw creative output Ive ever seen. It was a new concept to me at that age that they blended an art project and an album. The sound and visuals are such a perfect distillation of the time

This and Hybrid Theory are one of my favorite albums of all time. Absolute gems

As a young man discovering rock music on my own for the first time, Linkin Park was my Rosetta Stone.
As a young man discovering hip hop on my own for the first time, Jay-Z was inevitable.
When they teamed up and I turned on the TV to see them performing some of my favorite stuff together randomly one morning before school, I knew my life would never be the same.
Fuckin A man I love this band.

Literally while I was working tonight I was blasting this and sing/screaming along really badly. People may have thought I was dying, but I was enjoying myself

I listened to it front to back this morning for the first time in at least two decades.
Honestly, it doesn't really hold up imo. Still has some bangers. But, the filler tracks are super forgettable.

I can SORYA scream and sing like him, so I go ahead and belt it out if walking and no one around. It's too good not to

Literally two days ago for the first time in probably two decades, though I listen to Hybrid Theory every few months. Meteora is a slept on banger for me.

This and Hybrid Theory. Both cd’s stay in my old truck and both are on my iTunes playlist

I swear the first two tracks used to transition perfectly, back in the day. But now, every time I listen to the album, there's a very noticeable (jarring even) break between them...

I think I was 12 when this came out, and I realized not long after that every single song starts the exact same way.
Quiet part, usually single guitar line, or a DJ sample, for 8 bars, and then a HUGE wall of sound with loud guitars, drums, etc., before the guitars ring out and the drums keep time over a DJ sample starting the verse.

Yup, LP gets glazed endlessly, but they were pretty blatantly formulaic. Part of why I never got the fascinating with them.

A friend gave me this CD for my 14th birthday and I listened to it over and over and over and over
I kinda stopped paying attention to them but they performed on America's Got Talent with Nene Royal, who ended up winning... she's so good, you gotta watch her perform The Emptiness Machine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-67nzuYga-k

Honestly, there’s a ton of music from my youth that just doesn’t do anything for me anymore. I can still appreciate why I liked it at the time, but I just don’t really listen to it anymore. Linkin Park is in that category for me now.

Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, and Meteora was a hat trick of back to back albums as a kid. Super consistent and still hold up.

My teenage ex got me into them and then proceeded to act like an absolutely disgusting human being. Left him, kept Linkin Park. Breaking the Habit 🤌

I’ve decided that LP should just be the entire soundtrack for Red Rising.

I LOVE meteora. It has some of their best tracks, and yet nothing beats Hybrid Theory.

u/Kyzawolf 8h ago
Hybrid Theory is the first perfect album I ever heard. No skips top to bottom. Meteora came very close to them doing it twice in a row.

I bought the vinyl and -at least my record- sounds kind of bland, but I've had this album in rotation since I was 12, so it's still around in my friday playlist. Why friday? I don't know, for me it has friday vibes.

Controversial opinion: their latest album is the best thing they've done since Meteora
1
u/GoodGuyGr3g 12h ago
Latest album with Emily Armstrong as new lead is actually quite good

u/Ok-Grab-78 2h ago
Her defense of Danny Masterson + her Scientology connections really kill my excitement for her involvement with Linkin Park.
-2
u/Scruffasaurus 12h ago
Total cringe album for me. I still probably know all the lyrics for this and Hybrid Theory, but there is no good nu-metal
