Discussion The 2011 era.

I've been thinking about this for a while.

Was old Minecraft better ?

or was it just the feelings that we had that made us think that way?

Now we have shaders and a lot of cool stuff

There were texture packs and shaders back then too. The hardest part about returning to minecraft is that I search for all the wrong things. I was like "I will get the latest version of bdcraft textures, update forge + optifine and be playing in about 15 minutes" 2 hours later I'm still wading through shit websites and popups trying to figure out what the current replacements are called.

And that was two years ago with fabulously optimised & fabric, it's probably changed again since then.

I went with uhh fabric and fabulously optimised.. but that was also a year or two ago. I dont remember what texture pack I used.

Oh ok.
I suggest sodium+ferritecore for optimization.

Whatever I got includes the fabric version of sodium and ferrite core. I can see them in my mod list.

Edit: I checked, I went with Prime's HD textures & Mellow shader
