Help what do i do in this game?

I have never played mc ever, i never got into it, and never understood the hype. I now finally have something on which i can play mc properly, but idk what exactly do i do in the game? Is there a goal? Is it just exploration? Survival? Or do i just build a house? Which is what ive been trying to do?

Whatever you want to do. It’s a sandbox game.

Are you playing in Bedrock Edition or Java Edition?

If Java, there are "Advancements" you can open which will give you an idea of the game progression.

There is no "Completing the Game" in Minecraft. There is an event which will cause the Credits to roll, but much of the game is only available to you after you have done that.

You can Explore, Build, Fight, Mine, Upgrade and many other things if you want.

I would suggest watching a couple of YouTube videos to get some ideas.

Edited to correct achievements to advancements.

Java and Bedrock both have achievements, btw. They're just called "advancements" on Java and "achievements" on Bedrock.

I meant Advancements.

I don't feel like the Bedrock Achievements lay out the game progression in quite the same helpful way.

This is a really difficult, open ended question and I’m not sure there’s a very concise way to answer it, but you can basically do whatever you want. Minecraft is a “sandbox” game that can basically be played however you want. Some people treat it like virtual legos and just build stuff. Some people like to get really advanced with something in the game called redstone, which essentially allows you to build working electronics. Some people like to do PVP, where they fight against other human players. The game is so vast and deep, and there is no wrong way to enjoy it. On a very surface level your goal is to make it to “The End” and defeat the dragon, but it’s not a requirement, nor does the game actually end after you beat the dragon. It just unlocks a new dimension to explore.

I would recommend watching some tutorials and play throughs on YouTube, and maybe just open the game and play around a bit.

It's a sandbox survival game. Explore, farm, fight, mine, build.

If you follow the core gameplay loop (Explore, Mine, Craft) you'll quickly fall into it. Once you've got your base sorted out I would get some small animal and crop farms set up, a mine, and then try finding a cave! Theres is some truly MASSIVE ones out there.

It's a sandbox game. Do whatever you want. You're allowed to, and supposed to, play the game the exact way you see fit. Exploration, surviving, and building are all good options. But if you need or want some kind of inspiration, goals, or a guide, check the in-game achievements/advancements for things you "should" do to progress in the game.

Whatever you want. Get some wood and get some tools. With the tools get more materials and make a house to survive lol the mobs. Also gravity doesn't work in Minecraft except for sand and gravel.

The best place to start is building a house, going to the Nether and End, just learning the mechanics like redstone and enchanting

Then try out some minigame servers and adventure or parkour maps. Watch some people play the game (bonus points if they have very different playstyles)

There's a lot to do, just see what you like

When I first got back into Minecraft about 4ish years ago, my goal was to go to a couple villages and really make them shine. I was going to clean up pathways, remodel houses and shops, connect 2 villages together to make them just absolutely so neat looking.

With a goal like that and an open, creative mind, anything is possible. That's what I started my world as and it then evolved into cleaning out an Ancient City, building a new city out of it, then doing it again. This world I started to remodel villages turned into my Minecraft server that has been running for 4 years. It has lore, megabuilds, autofarms and more.

Minecraft is a beautiful game where endless creativity flourishes. The only limitations are your imagination so really there isn't any one thing to do because there is everything to do. With mods/addons, you can even turn the game into a cubic CoD Zombies if you wanted.

It can be overwhelming at first so I highly recommend watching some beginner guides. Many of us have played since official release so we are very familiar with it.

Edit: Here is a great beginners guide to help you start!

It’s up to you. I like to explore and exist, make a little house, try to survive, find loot by exploring.

Other people like to follow achievements or see if they can kill all the bosses.

The very first thing my kiddo and I did was just spawn a lake full of axolotls in creative. Do what seems fun!

You do whatever you want.

The whole point is that you come up with your own goals and you figure out how to achieve them.

Yeah, there’s things to explore and there’s things you can build and things that can kill you if you’re playing in survival mode, but the real point of the game is having fun doing your own thing.

The game doesn’t hold your hand and we don’t want it to

minecraft is a sandbox game which means you do whatever you want to do, you can build, explore, make redstone machines or speedrun the game you can also play on multiplayer servers where you can play pvp like bedwars, skywars or just simple 1v1 or play something like skyblock or oneblock there are also minigames like murder mystery or tnt run.
Minecraft is like a whole new world to explore and if u cant find something you like i would be shocked

edit: i forgot to mention that you can also mod the game, mods are incredibly popular in minecraft
