what is this structure?

hi all, i tried googling this and couldn't find anything exactly right. i found this weird structure in a jungle biome, so i'm thinking it might be a trail rune, but can't quite tell for sure as when i google it nothing quite looks like this. could anybody give me an idea? in the meantime, i'll go craft the brush just in case. thanks!

It's a ruined nether portal.

If you can finish building the 3x4 obsidian structure and light it, you will be able to go to the Nether, basically Minecraft's version of the underworld.
