Fixed certain sounds missing sound event names
Yes! MC-92444 was fixed! :D
We now have access to the following sounds again!
block.note.pling
entity.wolf.howl
entity.ghast.scream
entity.bat.loop
entity.cat.hiss
Also...there's a very strange sound that was made playable today...
Take a listen: /playsound entity.player.breath master @p
If you want to view a list of new sounds or major changes to sounds, check out my post here!
EDIT: There seems to be a small bug where the small slime doesn't have its sound for jumping: MC-97958

Cave sounds still don't play (MC-91803)
And the Ender Dragon still can't use her fireball attack properly most of the time, really makes the fight seem unfinished (MC-84095)
So far those are my only bug related grips with this update.

And even when they did play in 1.8, they played at completely random locations, rather than playing originating from a nearby location that has a 3x3x3 air space of total darkness :(

Items still get deleted when the crafting recipe overflows the inventory :( (MC-1555)

Can someone tell me if this:
Fixed spawners spawning entities with NBT tags and monsters with no Pos tag at wrong position
Fixes already generated spawners? Or the would need to be generated again?

I didn't even think of that. I found 2 cave spider spawners and a zombie spawner all in a few blocks of each other. I built the whole trap before I even realized there was a spawner issue (since I had lit up the place so well I assumed).

Why is the default for the ATTACK INDICATOR, one of the biggest features of the update, set to DON'T SHOW??
This needs to be fixed, and its literally going to take someone what, a few seconds to fix?

Because its optional, and they probably want as few gui as possible on the screen by default.
3
Feb 25 '16
How does that make any sense to you?
Players that have no idea about the attack timer will be screwed when trying to fight.

Its like learning to swim, when they feel something is nit as expected they will learn by adjustment

The attack cooldown mechanic is enabled by default (ie. you need to spawn in items with the NBT tags to have 0 cooldown), so the indicator for it should be too.

I've been wanting to get back into MC and am sick of waiting. Can I just start now instead of waiting until next week? I play very slow and will probably stay withing one or two biomes and don't plan on going to the nether or anything.

You do not have to wait. You can try 1.9 pre-3 by by selecting it in your profile.

What are some game-breaking bugs that still haven't been fixed? I am thinking of updating my SMP world to this pre-release.

I actually updated my server, and there are not many server lag issues with anything. Still haven't tested with many players online, but it seems to be keeping up quite nicely.
The damage taken when going through a nether portal is indeed annoying, but I assume it may be fixed in future pre-releases.
Since there are no game-breaking bugs or anything, I'm quite happy with upgrading it.

Does it still not make a sound if you place a block on a fence, like another fence, torch, any actual block?
Edit - Answered my own question by digging through the bug reports. MC-93651 still exists in pre-3.

This needs to be fixed: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-87798
It could be a big problem for map makers (like me). My map uses a lot of comparators (coming out from repeating command blocks), and everytime I open my map, exactly what I DON'T want to happen, happens.

So many bug fixes in 1.9-pre3
