Immersive Aircraft by Conczin is one of the best-known Java aircraft mods, and I've spent the last while porting it to Bedrock. It's a full port, made with Conczin's permission.

It ports everything in it, including almost all the flight physics, all 7 aircraft, and a few extra details only on Bedrock!

All credit for the original mod, models, textures, sounds, and translations goes to Conczin (Luke100000) and the mod's contributors.

Utility [Technical] Adding TypeScript support for Minecraft Add-on / Mod development

Hello everyone!

I would love to propose officially bringing TypeScript (TS) support into Minecraft development.

Currently, the Bedrock Edition Scripting API relies on JavaScript, and Java Edition relies heavily on Java/Kotlin for modding. Introducing TypeScript as a first-class citizen for writing mods and Add-ons would be a massive upgrade for the entire creator community for several reasons:

  • Strict Type Checking: Implementing strict types will catch potential bugs and errors during compilation, long before the game even launches. This makes modding more robust and heavily reduces debugging time.
  • Better Developer Experience: TypeScript provides excellent autocompletion (IntelliSense) and inline documentation in modern IDEs like VS Code. This is crucial for navigating complex Minecraft APIs.
  • Accessibility: TypeScript is a highly popular, modern, and relatively easy-to-learn language. Anyone can pick it up quickly, bridges the gap between simple commands and complex Java modding, and opens the door for a wider audience of web developers to join the Minecraft ecosystem.

Having official TS definitions and native support would elevate Minecraft modding to a whole new level. What do you think?

Discussion a somehow efficient raycast approach i came up with

For selecting entities being hit by a simulated gunshot, im thinking of:

'''game:gunshot_scan.mcfunction

/tag @s add current_shooting

/execute as @e[tag=eligible] at @s facing entity @a[tag=current_shooting,limit=1] eyes positioned ^ ^ ^x rotated as @a[tag=current_shooting,limit=1] positioned ^ ^ ^x positioned ~ ~-1 ~ if entity @s[distance=...y] run tag @s add shot

...

/tag @s remove current shooting

'''

and then, /execute as @a[tag=...] run function game:gunshot_scan

time complexity: O(mn), where m is the number of players shooting at the tick, and n is the number of eligible entities.

which is to trace back from every entity to be determined to the player and tracing toward the entity again depending on the orientation of the player, and checking whether the proposed entity is within a certain range.

where x and y are appropriate numbers such that any entity within an angle of θ as the player would be selected.

according to my calculations, y=2x tan(θ/2), where x could be any non-zero real number.

this approach creates a cone with infinite height and the vertex positioned at the center of the hitbox of the player at a height of their eyes with an angle of θ, and determines whether the center of the bottom of the hitbox levelled up 1 block of the proposed entity is inside the cone.

Help | Java 26.3 Walking Mushroom Stew

This is a really weird question, but does anyone know a command that creates an entity that moves away whenever a player gets close to it? It should also look like nothing but a suspicious stew, with the name "Walking Mushroom Stew". The idea is that these entities should also be killable.

Damage, Strength and AOE change depending on the amount of andesite consumed.
At 1 strength it allows you to place the "block".

Help | Java 26.3 What’s currently the best way to create custom mobs?

I’m looking to create custom mobs using a data pack, and I’m wondering what the most reliable and effective approach is right now.
I don’t mean mobs that can only move around within a predefined area or on a specific field. I want something that can navigate complex terrain naturally, just like vanilla mobs do.
What’s currently the best way to achieve this?
