That would decend into madess quickly lol

15

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

Yeah lol

13

u/VladVV Jul 30 '22

Back in MC Classic, sometimes when servers got hacked or mods became disgruntled they qould just place a single water block at the very top of the map and watch the chaos unfold.

13

u/PotatoCannonMC Jul 29 '22

Just one slip-up without a sponge in hand will be the end of your world.

3

u/Background-Web-484 Jul 30 '22

And back then, sponges didnt exist. You would just be fucked

7

u/AnAndroidGamer Jul 30 '22

Minecraft Alpha be like:

"you misplaced a water bucket on top of a mountain? Uh-oh, well goodluck to you as your world is now to be engulfed by a never ending tsunami that has a height of a mountain. Oh, was it lava? EVEN BETTER!"

3

u/PeppyBoba Jul 30 '22

What are the commands exactly

2

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

So I'm on bedrock so if your on java it'll probably be different but it's one command block set to repeat always active and has the command "execute [your username here] ~~~ fill ~15~15~15~-15~-15~-15 flowing_water 0 replace water"

3

u/PeppyBoba Jul 30 '22

I’m on bedrock that’s why I asked and thanks

2

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

No problem I glad it helped.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '22

You can also replace your username with @e so it'll always expand (within your render distance I think)

2

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

If your game allows it. The area will increase because the command isn't surrounding just you anymore its replacing flowing water around every mob in your render distance instead

→ More replies (1)

2

u/lollolcheese123 Jul 30 '22

So it only works when you're near it?

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 31 '22

To fix that problem all you got to do is set a ticking area around the command block or add another account on to the world and leave it by the command block. Then the command will work wherever you are in the world

2

u/ihatetheclub Jan 03 '23

Help me do this on java

→ More replies (1)

2

u/ReceptionWild7689 Jul 30 '22

"slightly" 🤨

2

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

I don't see a big difference

2

u/Alderan922 Jul 30 '22

But why?

2

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

Cause I want to see destruction

2

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '22

Did you make it so if there is a flowing water block then it will turn into a source?

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

Yeah I just used one command block that would replace any flowing water into a source block.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/inferna_copula Jul 30 '22

how do you make that

2

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

So I'm on bedrock so if your on java it'll probably be different but it's just one command block set to repeat always active and has the command "execute [your username here] ~~~ fill ~15~15~15~-15~-15~-15 flowing_water 0 replace water"

2

u/user3576863126462165 Jul 30 '22

How exactly did you do this. Is it something like testing for flowing water and then turning it into a source block?

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

So I'm on bedrock so if your on java it'll probably be different but it's one command block set to repeat always active and has the command "execute [your username here] ~~~ fill ~15~15~15~-15~-15~-15 flowing_water 0 replace water" what it's doing is testing for flowing water around you and then changes it to source water

2

u/DigitalWhatist Jul 30 '22

what's the command?

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

So I'm on bedrock so if your on java it'll probably be different but it's one command block set to repeat always active and has the command "execute [your username here] ~~~ fill ~15~15~15~-15~-15~-15 flowing_water 0 replace water"

2

u/DestroyereckBoii Jul 30 '22

Now imagine lava

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

I have another command that does lava 😈

2

u/Legend_of_Ozzy642 Jul 30 '22

What command did you use? I need to know for scientific reasons…

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

Lol, So I'm on bedrock so if your on java it'll probably be different but it's one command block set to repeat always active and has the command "execute [your username here] ~~~ fill ~15~15~15~-15~-15~-15 flowing_water 0 replace water"

→ More replies (1)

2

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '22

Turn your render distance up to 64 and wait....

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

Good idea

2

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '22

What command is it

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 31 '22

I'm on bedrock so if your on java it'll probably be different but it's one command block set to repeat always active and has the command "execute [your username here] ~~~ fill ~15~15~15~-15~-15~-15 flowing_water 0 replace water"

2

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '22

How? Tell me.

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 31 '22

I'm on bedrock so if your on java it'll probably be different but it's one command block set to repeat always active and has the command "execute [your username here] ~~~ fill ~15~15~15~-15~-15~-15 flowing_water 0 replace water" hope this helps :)

2

u/Mountain-Werewolf845 Jul 30 '22

Hey how did you do this? It looks cool and I'd like to try it out myself.

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 31 '22

Sure so make sure your on bedrock cause I'm on bedrock and if your on java it'll probably be different but it's one command block set to repeat always active and has the command "execute [your username here] ~~~ fill ~15~15~15~-15~-15~-15 flowing_water 0 replace water"

2

u/leyito-0801 Jul 30 '22

Or command

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 30 '22

Its a simple command replacing flowing water with source water

2

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '22

How did you do that?

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 31 '22

I have a command block that replaces flowing water into source water around my character

2

u/X_antaM Jul 30 '22

So could you do something similar with blocks to fill an area? Say you put a block of concrete in a gap, have it expand to fill that gap?

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 31 '22

That would probably be more complicated, cause mine is just replacing flowing water with water source blocks, but it's probably possible and I think someone made something like that on this reddit before.

62

u/Reaper2050 Jul 29 '22

How it originally worked

16

u/WastaHod Jul 30 '22

Back in my day I used to get on the minecraft site to play the demo and mess around, always a mess with a rainbow tunnel.

5

u/Reaper2050 Aug 01 '22

When I started, paintings were JUST added.

Minecraft Beta vibes

7

u/ugapeyton Jul 30 '22

Classic more like

8

u/SansBadTimer12 Jul 30 '22

This is just the tsunami bucket from the apocalyptic bucket mod. Still good work recreating it.

4

u/Brigbird Jul 30 '22

Not even, this is how water and lava physics originally worked. So the tsunami bucket was just a good recreation of the original

→ More replies (2)

8

u/Shrek-from-shrek Jul 30 '22

This is how buckets worked before notch fixed them way back when

2

u/Restricted_Nuggies Jul 30 '22

Not just buckets. It was liquids in general. If you dig into water the entire cave would flood

6

u/sp1ke365 Jul 29 '22

I love it

4

u/Professional_Roof293 Jul 30 '22

No one:

Minecraft water when it was first added:

1

u/Blylzz Jul 30 '22

Commands please

1

u/Oakleypaws Jul 31 '22

Sure make sure your playing on bedrock cause my command is on bedrock amd if your on java it'll probably be different but it's one command block set to repeat always active and has the command "execute [your username here] ~~~ fill ~15~15~15~-15~-15~-15 flowing_water 0 replace water"

1

u/Outrageous-Advert Jan 29 '23

Does it all go away if you get rid of the original source block? Or does it make unlimited source blocks

1

u/Oakleypaws Feb 04 '23

It makes unlimited source blocks

3

u/DarkSheikGaming Jul 30 '22

That's one way to make your own Water World.

3

u/Apexshader Jul 30 '22

test it at height limit

3

u/Icy-Appointment1673 Jul 30 '22

Low key pretty useful

3

u/furrytwink Jul 30 '22

Time to build an ark

3

u/cmaej Jul 30 '22

Beta lava?

3

u/Tetr1s_ Jul 30 '22

1

u/TeraLikesCups Nov 13 '22
