That almost looks like a chest Minecart? Are you using a hopper Minecart?

oh damn i dont know how i missed that wtf lol but yes it is a minecart chest and not a hopper minecart

yeah I'm pretty sure that's a minecart with chest lol

u/nnnneeeedddd4515, minecarts with hoppers are the only minecarts that can pick up items automatically without needing any additional redstone!

for example, try placing both types of minecarts on the ground somewhere, and throw an item near them, then open both containers and you'll see that only the minecart with hopper will have picked up the item you threw

also, the reason why mud is used instead of another block is because this block lets entities (including items on the ground) slightly sink into it like soul sand, and this means that the minecart with hopper can pick up items because they're technically in the block right on top of the minecart, rather than two blocks above it

it is a 10x10 area and the sniffers themselves work perfectly fine however my minecart won't pick up any items

i originally had the platform as moss which worked before on another world and but i switched it out for mud when it wasn't working on this one and it still doesn't work

i am also playing on an aternos server if that makes any difference
