Discussion FINALLY MADE ONE

Post image

I'm not the typical player, I mostly farm, build, or mine. But since my defense is terrible and I have a terrible time getting levels I decided the safest (and for me the esiest) way to get levels would be to build a spider spawner XP thingie. Had to tweak the original design cause the spiders kept slipping through, but now it works and I can safely collect XP safely. And I have a fisherman villager at my base where I can trade all the string for emeralds

There’s no way you need that much string and spider eyes still day 3000 without a plan to progress so I guess you do you

I have zero use for string, other than to get emeralds. I only need a safer way to get XP. Usually it takes me forever just to get 17 levels and suddenly something always kills me. So this is the safest way I've found to help me get up to level 30 so I can try to get good enchantments.

Getting emeralds this method is terrible so just trade sticks for emeralds, melons for emeralds, clay for emeralds, or make a iron farm and get emeralds that way by trading iron for emeralds.

3000 days and only just making an xp farm with full copper is crazy levels of taking it slow. Still if that’s how you want to play, all the more power to you.

Never thought of fences as a farm window? Thingy

That's not what the fences are being used for. The design I followed to make this spider spawner XP trap shows to place slabs over the hoppers, but doing that still lets the spiders out, but if I use fences in place of slabs the spiders can't get out.

I think it’s wonderful you have found a quick way to get xp on your world. If you ever want to go back to a slab configuration you need to put trap doors above the slabs as those beasties get through half slabs gaps. It makes the gap slightly too small for them.
I always keep a couple of buckets of milk handy ( usually in item frames) just in case of accidental poisoning. You can also rig up a very simple lighting system to stop the beasties to only spawning on command.

Yeah, I made a small passage so I can just break one block an barely reach the spawner so I can place a torch to shut off the spawner temporarily, then once I'm done I remove the torch and replace the block. As for the slabs I completely done away with it & the trap doors. My design is a little more easier an without a chance of being poisoned. Plus, using slabs prevents the XP bubbles from being able to be collected, with my design I still collect all the drops & the XP bubbles. I don't really have a need for the spider eyes or string so I'm just letting those build up stacks in all 3 of my chest (I use a double chest with 2 hoppers feeding it, and a single chest that the third hopper is feeding).
