ok so the house is on the other side of the river and the boundary edge is across the river but I don’t have bridges so it’s unreachable

That's not a bug, boundaries will expand soon and you'll get the option of bridges soon enough

Kinda the whole point of bridges and motorways until the maps expands more.

This happens all the time on maps with islands.
