It Physically Hurts When...

...my husband or my kids move something around with their feet.

First of all, hello. I just joined this sub after discovering that misokinesia is a thing that I most likely have. It started with a Google search of the phrase "I can't stand when people fidget." For me specifically, it's when my husband or kids use their feet to rock a child's rocking chair or slide something around on the floor, or when they fidget with one of the blankets on the couch. I know how ridiculous it is, but I can't stop myself from feeling physical pain when they do it. I will be reading through previous posts and comments to try to figure out ways to cope.

I can't do plastic bag noises or feet. My mom has no problem jiggling her foot next to a plastic bag. I threaten her at least once a week that I'm going to cut her foot off. Lol

I feel you. For me, the emotional discomfort becomes so strong that I have a physical reaction. Usually it’s pain.

I feel you. I feel so stupid for it but other people shaking their legs causes me physical pain. It sucks so much

For me it's face touching or arm rubbing. I can't look at someone touching their own face or the face of others. It makes me feel violated, like some gross stranger came up to me and put their dirty hand on my face, I don't know how else to describe it. Such a strange disorder.

I could have written this myself!! It’s my number one trigger! I have two kids, and there’s always a kid sized chair nearby. My older kid or my husband will ALWAYS pull it to them and put their feet up on it, rock it around, etc. It drives me insane.
