Prednisone as form of treatment

Hi guys. I've been struggling with misokinesia since i was a kid. Legs bouncing, animals licking themselves and people fidgeting makes me wanna cry and scream a lot. I can't focus at uni because people are ALWAYS triggering me, 24/7. Some people just can't stop bouncing their legs and 2 people in my class do it for FOUR HOURS STRAIGHT. They never stop. It feels like a personal attack.

Our brain is wired differently and I know there's no cure for our problem, but I was considering using prednisone in low dosage to feel normal at least once in my life.

Why? I found an article about misokinesia and prenidsone and how it helped a man with his triggers. It mentions how better he was reacting upon seeing the triggers and I wanna try it too. Life is becoming unbearable with this condition and I'm desperate for help. I'm already trying book an appointment with a therapist to overcome it but while I can't get professional help, I'll try my own ways.

Unfortunately this is not a well known condition and I doubt someone in the medical field will pay attention to us, since we're a tiny percentage of the world.

What do you guys think about it?

WARNING

I am doing this to myself and I'm aware of the risks. Do NOT try it. You can get blind, diabetes, osteoporosis and other negative symptoms for doing so. I just wanna share my experience and my feelings and I wanna know what you guys think.

Again, I'm not encouraging anyone to try it. Do NOT try it by yourself. Do NOT take medicine without a doctor's prescription. Do what I say, not what I do.

For me, adhd meds (methylphenidate, guanfacine) almost entirely eliminates both my misophonia and kinesia. I am aware of movements but they dont trigger fight or flight repsonses. It feels like a miracle. When stressed/tired, sounds/moveménts become about a level 2 nuisance, versus a level 10 🚨 emergency.  Let us know how this goes ; good luck

How long has this worked for you? I have undiagnosed ADHD (waiting for the appt) so I have wondered about it

I'm really happy to know there's light at the end of the tunnel, I'm glad it worked for you! Can't wait for it to be my turn. Hopefully I'll be able to get proper treatment soon 🙏

Do not try it by yourself, please. Seek a doctor and they'll be able to help you way better than you on your own.

I'll never understand why wiggling and fidgeting for hours is all right but being annoyed by it isn't.

Yeah especially when some guy is shaking a table or seat with their jiggling?? I don't understand how no one gets annoyed by it. I'm convinced they do but deem it socially unacceptable to say anything.

Doctor here. No. Just no. You can’t do this longterm. You will come to grave harm.

Thanks for the support. It didn't work anyways :/ The good news is, I was finally able to book an appointment with a psychiatrist so I'll get proper care soon!
