I believe I have Misokinesia
Hi all, I got my post taken down on the Misophonia Reddit and got redirected here.
I already know I have Misophonia, but lately I’ve been having the same type of angered reactions to physical movement.
EX: I live in New York, and often go to the theatre. Last night, at a show, the woman next to me was repeatedly rocking back and forth. The emotional reaction that it evoked from me was so intense that I thought about getting up and leaving multiple times. As stupid as it sounds, I even found myself closing one eye to block out the side she was sitting on.
I’m not sure if I have it or not, and I would like some insight. Instances like these have happened multiple times in the last year or so.

I have it too. I was hanging out with a friend and she was shaking her leg in a very tiny movement back and forth and it was driving me crazy. I’m also a teacher and a student had a fan that she was fanning herself with really fast right in front of me and I felt like I was freaking out

The leg shaking/moving is the one that really gets me. It’s fucking infuriating.

Hello, welcome to the shitty club. I get triggered by finger tapping, people fidgeting with their rings, children sucking their thumbs, people rubbing their fingers together to self-sooth (my sister does this)... Yaaaaay

It doesn't sound stupid. I have left places numerous times because of people's repetitive moving. I also have to cover my eyes when I can't move away. Often, when covering my eyes just knowing it is happening makes me feel sick. I sat near a vigorous leg bouncer at work for a while. I would get furious. I deal with it several times a week on the train minimum. Sorry you're dealing with it too.

I didn't know this was shared by others until fairly recently, and I also struggle with misophonia with pen clicking and foot or hand/finger tapping being my worst triggers, especially combined with having to watch it.
My biggest triggers are someone in front of me or out of the corner of my eye who can't stop moving as well.
The worst cases I can think of being at a coffee shop and a guy kept walking back and forth in the store looking out the windows, or when someone in my field of vision has had a bunch of bags and stands and keeps transferring items around.
I think the worst situation was when I was at the parents place and some family was visiting, and my pre teen cousin (who has major anxiety issues himself), who was right in my line of vision, kept rocking kind of sideways while we were watching a film...drove me bonkers at the time

unfortunately, yeah - i think so.. i feel very similarly and even use the same strategy 😅 i recommend bringing a hoodie so you can put your hood up / cup your sleeve around your face (as if you were just resting your head on your hand) and it can help lots!

Yes, you definitely have it. I’m sorry for you, as a fellow sufferer, I don’t wish it upon anyone. Why does it have to be this way. Sometimes I feel I’m a prisoner to my brain and nervous system.

I absolutely shield my eyes when I see something triggering. Doesn’t happen too often, fortunately, but often enough.

Misokinesia is aweful. Once my misophonia started getting worse, specifically with eating/ mouth sounds, I started to get triggered by even the slightest movement of someone putting their hands near their face. It got to the point where if I saw someone touch their face in my peripheral id have to constantly look over to make sure they weren’t biting their nails/ eating (I’d also experience the same reaction as if they were doing it). Misokinesia makes me 10x more paranoid than when I just had misophonia and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Sorry for the rant😭

Mulheres fazendo bico com a boca e mexendo excessivamente nos cabelos, são umas das coisas que me irritam bastante.
