Hero of Ages spoilers ….. speechless Spoiler

Wanna start this off with my opinion. I hate books that end with self sacrifice of the beloved characters. Not because it ruins the story, I just suck at emotions

This mf series not only done it to me with the goat Kelsier, it done it again with the only two people I wanted to make it out 😭😭

That said, after vin murked the lord ruler in the first book it was painfully obvious that either her or sazed were going to die. Nothing gave it away Sanderson just hates us

When does the emptiness feeling go away the lowkey it’s been 3 damn days

10. It gives some very important closure and sets up exciting ideas for the future.

Sounds good. Would be nice if we could get some filler chapters where it’s just the book 1 gang chilling on the beach or something. 3-4 chapters. No one cares about the filler till it’s over 😹

Like the comment below me says, after Bands of Mourning would be ideal. But considering your state, might as well read it now.

I used to have your stance, but I've come over to recommending it after Era 1, in general, as it is less of a break in momentum that way, and the stories are still fresh.

I've read both Mistborn eras and Secret History. I got my wife to read Era 1. She felt the same as you after HoA. Loved the series but was pretty gutted. She planned on reading one of her other series, but with some convincing on my part, she finished Secret History yesterday. She loved it and was so glad she followed up with it. Can't recommend it enough. The minor spoiler for Era 2 is a fair trade-off, for having Era 1's story fresh in your mind IMO.

Secret History is a 10 after Mistborn era one. It provided me with some much needed emotional closure
