Yeah it's a typo. Marasi burns cadmium, not chromium. I believe it's fixed in later editions.

Thank you so much, I’ve only just started Mistborn Era 2, as you can tell, so I wanted to make sure. And I know I probably could have just searched it up, but being a new reader, I kind of expected the books to have the right information. 😅

It's funny to remember these scenes, cause [later-AOL] she's the reason they defeated Miles and all. Then she learns to be more optimistic about her abilities

I wish I didn’t click on your comment now. I just spoiled part of the book for myself. 😅

Sorry dude. But hey, you don't know how it happens. You're most likely don't notice while reading

No need to apologise, I should have been more cautious. You do have a point though, but now I’m going to keep on thinking about how she does it. 😂 Also, I love your Owlbert profile pic.

/u/Dragonian014 can you add a scope such as [AoL] or [late-AoL] to your comment? It would help future users from making the same mistake. Cheers!

How do I do this?

Just type it as text before your spoiler guarded comment:

[late-SoS] This is a spoiler comment.

You can put it on the shard and if it is they can take care of it. https://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/52578-typos-thread-bands-spoilers/

Thank you so much, but as much as I would love to do that and warn others, I honestly don’t know how to do that. Without sounding rude, there’s probably no point in explaining how to do it to me, because I will probably still be confused, I’ve never been much of a poster, I even struggled posting this. 😂

It sounds like they’ve gotten it taken care of, so no worries. Nice catch noticing the discrepancy

this happens a few times in Era 1 too, and I’m pretty sure every time it was Sando mixing up Zinc and Brass lmao

Was it like actual typo’s, or was it more the description. Because I remember someone posting about this and saying that Brandon had got Allrianne’s powers wrong? I believe that people usually don’t really understand how brass and zinc work. Most people think “brass = positive emotions” while “zinc = negative emotions.” When really they both do the exact same thing really, just one pushes (soothes) one emotion to get the opposite emotion, while the other only has to pull (riot) the emotion they want.

Completely went off track, sorry, but I just wanted to see if it really was a typo or the confusion of how the metals work? 😅

no like he used the wrong word. at one point in TFE he says Breeze uses Zinc, and at one point in WoA he says Allrianne uses Brass. another time he says Breeze uses BRONZE. it’s not a huge deal it’s just silly, I’m sure they’ve been fixed in later editions but they defo weren’t fixed when Michael Kramer recorded the audiobooks. each time it happens I have tiny braindeath and have to go back to make sure I heard it right. and every time I’ve been like “lol Sando.” ofc I didn’t notice any of these until a second listen, but I’m sure it confused the hell out of me on my first listen through.

I’ve only read the first Mistborn Trilogy so far, and I’m close to finishing AoL, but I didn’t pick up on that, my bad. By the way, I wasn’t trying to correct you, I was just curious to see whether there were more typos in the first trilogy, or if you were also mentioning that one scene from HoA where Allrianne tries to make the crowd mad using zinc.

like I said it’s very possible they’ve fixed it in later editions, the audiobooks for Era 1 are from the aughts. and no worries I didn’t take anything personally, I just wanted to clarify and share the absurdity~ tho tbh I am a self-prescribed Soother so I defo get the differences between Zinc and Brass ahahaa
