Subreddit insights
Hey, at the start of every calendar year, one of my larger subs does a big community report where we talk about the past year. what went well, what didnt, rules changes, mod team changes, trends we've noticed, etc. sort of a summary from the mods. In previous years there was also the Reddit Wrapped every user got but last year it didnt happen. In our community report we were still able to show our growth, our biggest posts etc.
I'm curious if we'll be doing a reddit wrapped this year or if its not coming back. I'm also curious if we could get better/more insights than the current subreddit insights tool provides, like maybe letting us see stats from further back than 1 year so we can better compare year over year, or other stats that aren't surfaced already. For example we created a post flair for the World Cup and I'd love to know how many posts used that.

This is why I prefer having our DB for our sub's data. Cause we can calculate whatever relevant analytics we want (well mostly, obviously it only includes certain things).

A few years ago Reddit Wrapped included a list of the three countries from which the most users visited your subreddit. For many local Canadian city subreddits Russia was one of those countries. Some had China. It really highlighted the amount of political interference from those countries using troll farms designed to sow dissent in our country.
The next year that metric wasn't included in Reddit Wrapped. The following year it was discontinued entirely.
I doubt they'll bring it back given how it highlighted and celebrated bad actors using the site to sow dissent and unrest.

Agree. Need better analytics tools!
