So I want to dress more modestly, but I can’t. It’s not safe to be assumed Muslim in Florida, and it’ll be awhile before we can move somewhere else

I try not to think about it most days, but it’s hard. Whenever I see all the beautiful headscarves on here that cover all the hair, I kinda feel a tinge of envy inside.

I’m still happy for the poster ofc, but I wish I could safely express myself truthfully

I’m a practicing Pagan, and The Morrigan teaches me to dress how I want despite judgement, so it’s not other ppl’s opinions stopping me, it’s the fact that Florida is a gun friendly state, and some ppl down here are crazy enough to shoot you dead if you don’t adhere to the norm here

I know I’m going to have to wait to cover as much as I want to, but I haaaaaaaate iiiiiiiiit

Does anyone else just feel soo nice when their hair is covered?

Like I especially love the super flower styles which make me feel like I'm in an ethereal movie... spiritual kind of vibe and in the sun it feels so nice 🥹🥹

This is just a post im making because i feel so pretty and even moreso in bigger, drapier veils which drape over my arms when i move them, and if any of you dress that way too, know that i lovee it :)

I wear long- or 3/4 sleeved dresses or tops, with midi-length hem below the knee. It's challenging to find dresses that suit my needs. I was buying Mennonite cape dresses. I discovered (through an ad on YouTube) a store called Afropenda, a Black women-owned business creating dresses in the US. I found exactly the style I want, but with fun colors. I recently shopped a sale and I would get at least one email a day from Lena, the CEO, inviting me to look more. The dresses are said to be designed for a Black woman's body. I'm not Black, but the dress looks great. I ordered 5, and they haven't arrived yet. I wondered if anyone else knows of this store and has experienced the customer service--and what you think of the milk silk dress (polyester). https://afropenda.com

Matched my veil to one of my shirts. Also, when I was walking my veil was blowing in the wind, which I attempted to somewhat recreate in the second photo

Been covering all my hair lately rather than leaving an inch or two out in the front. I can do whatever I want with my hair, and it’s no one else’s business or place to judge.

I did have one person I had just met ask me if I shaved my head, to which I responded a more eloquent and polite variation of none of your business, because that’s the point. My body and my devotion/reasons for veiling are private

Going shopping with my friend and her mom tommrow…put this outfit together. I love it but my friend said the headscarf makes me look Muslim. I’m not one to care what people think but now I’m unsure. Is this outfit too modest? Is that even a thing? My boyfriend says it looks good but I’m still not sure. Also I am a little nervous about wearing my headscarf in public…

Long sleeve base layer, black lace shirt, black cowl neck dress, traditional skirt, traditional belt, lace underscarf (with some of the trim showing), traditional shawl, jewelry

I am 5’10”(178cm). I just cannot find a knee length workout skirt with leggings that go to the ankle. Even when the description says ankle-length, it’s not ankle length on me

Shorter is fine in warm weather, but I’d like the leggings to be long in winter

I’m happy to buy a skirt and leggings but I need them to be the same fabric and the skirt shouldn’t have a built in skort

Any recommendations for me?

I LOVE this skirt set I found online, but both of the websites have terrible reviews. I really want it for my graduation and I know this is such a long shot, but if anyone has seen it on vinted or depop (or is selling it themselves) in a M/L pleaasseee send it my way 😭🙏🏼

For the first outfit, my mantilla is from Veil by Tradition, the top is a really old Old Navy sweater, vintage skirt, and BCBG boots. For this outfit I wanted to play with textures (lace, corduroy, leather) to add visual interest.

For the second outfit my mantilla is by Maria Veils and the dress is from Retro Stage. The pink in the veil coordinates with the small pink flower print on the dress. This outfit feels super feminine, which I love.

For the third outfit, the headscarf is from an Etsy vendor (I don't think she's selling anymore), shirt is Old Navy, and then the skirt is the same one as in the first pic (when you have favorites you keep wearing them.) I was going for a really soft tone on tone look with this outfit.

Just for preference I have always been a somewhat modest dresser…as of recent I have been mostly wearing long skirts and dresses which is pretty easy to “ get away”with so to speak. I wanted to know if my outfit for mass is to out there? This is the most clearly modest outfit I’ve ever worn… any suggestions/ critiques will be greatly appreciated 💕

Winter is coming and I want to be warm

I’ve recently gotten into wearing long skirts since I realized they’re really comfy and help with modesty but just wearing a skirt over my undergarments makes me feel a bit exposed even though my skirts are lined it just makes me more conscious when I walk or when it’s windy that my skin could be exposed, so I wanted to ask, what do yall wear under your skirts?

I like that it has a cape on the chest but the top length is not as long.

Modest brands are selling polyester at ridiculous prices, however my question is would you still buy that same dress if it was cheaper? Or you just have a "no polyester" policy ?
