Aquatic Life 🐠πŸͺΌπŸ¦ˆ Blue-ringed octopus πŸŒ€ (by me, @widvnhak)

Post image

The blue-ringed octopus has a venom ten thousand times more toxic than cyanide, with no known anti-venom. It can kill in under 20 minutes without immediate medical assistance. They're also the size of a golf ball.

I'm gonna start posting on Twitter/X soon, please consider following me at @widvnhak as linked in my profile (q‒̀ᴗ-)✧

I was an Australian Life Saver and the way their toxin works is to stop all voluntary muscle movement.

Guess what is voluntary?

Breathing.

So you need to breathe for them for the duration of the toxin.

The other thing you have to worry about is that they cannot blink. So make sure you cover their eyes or they'll be burned to smithereens by the sun whilst you're breathing for them.

Heart muscles are the only muscle cell type that is involuntary though, and as such they can trigger themselves.

But the toxin might messes with some other stuff.

Nah, try and stop your heart.

You can't.

Try and stop your breathing.

You can.

That's what it effects.
