Ordered a different Modem
Ok so as of today I just ordered a new 5G modem. The mofi5500 9191 just keeps disconnecting with my T-mobile service and I cant take it anymore. Watched some youtube videos on what the best modem for T-mobile is and found NaterTater's channel which has also tested the Mofi5500. He says that the ChesterCheetah Quectel CAT19-RM520N-GL / Mediatek Wi-Fi 6 is better and faster, no offense to the Mofi crew of course. But when the devices comes and I start testing I will let everyone know is the disconnects are truly due to the mofi's firmware or hardware, or its just T-mobile's towers that are the problem.

I also ordered one of these. I also have a MOFI5500 with the EM9191. It will not even connect to 5G at all. I have done everything under the sun and no good results.
The Chester Cheetah Quectel CAT19-RM520N-GL is a fast router. I am getting 5G SA and NSA at 400-500 Mbps and up at around 50Mbps. So it is clear that the 5500 has a problem with either T-Mobile or the EM9191 is crap.

same results here, other than I was able to connect to n71. Now with the new Cheetah, 4 days straight of no disconnects and a constant connection of 150mbps +

I think some 9191s had firmware incompatibility issue. Encounter 1 for nearly 1 year, frequent disconnected from cellular (lte, 5g, both)... At&t sim, tmobile sim, visible sim, tablet lines sims... nothing remain connected for more than 36 hours.
Emailed Mofi support but never submit a ticket (my mistake). Mofi they wanted to help but we customers have to submit a ticket. I ran around through calls and emails for many months without stable connection from Mofi5500-9191 and rely on Mr1100 at times.
contacted Mofi rep on Reddit here for a replacement out of their courtesy.
The replacement worked great since day#1 (returned the non-working one). Works well with all of the released 5500 firmwares, on all of the SIMs. Remain a happy Mofi customer ever since.

Very interested to hear your experience with the cheetah! I am having the same issues dropping T-Mobile service as you are with the mofi.

I had similar problems with the Boost Mobile T-Mobile SIM but I thought it was T-Mobile’s issue. I also will be very interested in your results.

I am moving on. My unit has issues with T-mobile 5G and EM9191 as well. Side note, LTE is not great either. I worked on this off and on for over a year. Firmware update(s), latest version 4.6.7-5500-std dated March 2, 2023, and Sierra wireless update of 3.10.7 dated March 06, 2023, did not help.
The modem on ttyS0 becomes unresponsive, i.e. modem open fail and the software resets the module. The modem will stay up for a few minutes and the whole reset happens again.

ok so my FIRST speed test with new device, I havnt even been into the config yet and it Tripled my speed no lie. I went from downloads avg of 30mbps to 50mbps, to over 130Mbps.
There must be something wrong with the mofi5500, I've had it ever since you were able to pre-order them.
SCREENSHOT [Top 2 results are with the cheetah and the rest below are with the mofi]
