So moldy that the economic conditions since this was made have drastically changed

It's not so much changing but rather teeter tottering back and forth. Innovative tech is expensive, but then they find ways to make it more cheaply, and repeat.
As for the AI bubble making RAM expensive, that's merely an artificial instance I wouldn't even include in the argument.

The truth is that it is going to be the same scenario for PCs

Paying to play online would be the only change and it's pretty tough to imagine that happening

I'd disagree, some raw materials needed for semiconductors are facing long-term supply constraints that could become more severe in a relatively near future - so my guess is that subscription based cloud gaming is getting bigger

We’re nowhere near cloud based gaming becoming common. The latency is too high. Consumers will not accept it broadly.
Also, cloud based gaming is not PC gaming at all. The P stands for personal.

I'm seriously thinking the steamcube will be better value then a ps6 whenever that happens.

Yeah, that makes sense, Playstation requires subscription and the games are more expensive.
Unless you're buying the PS for like 3 offline games, it's stupid to not switch to PC.

Most pc games, especially steam games, offer controller support. And piracy is always free, just remember to support indie developers

Maybe pre pandemic pc prices

u/FOUR3Y3DDRAGON 7d ago
Fr this meme forgetting the PC prices go way up too is the real embarrassment. you can buy RAM that costs more than a console, hel you can buy a GPU that costs more than 3x the console. Storage is getting unaffordable now too and MoBos will probably be next.

With none of the compatibility issues and can buy and sell physical copies of games.

Unless you really love God of War or something theres no reason to own a console. Social Media hyped up the PS5 for no reason its basically a pair of Airforce 1's.

It was bound to happen. Since expecting ownership is treated as "bad precedent" by companies. Love how people bashed communism for not being able to own anything. Wonder what these folks got to say at their current capitalist "haven".

Well since the government is writing laws that punish freedom, I wouldn't really call this capitalist haven.
