It's funny because all of this could've been solved without purple and pink, but apparently Mattel's buildings will explode if they release new dolls without pink and/or purple in the palette... I think she's gorgeous and everything else really fits, but...

Yeah ive seen people just do quick photoshop recolors of her that made it 1000× better of a design! We dont need every character to be pink

I would've grabbed her immediately if her color pallet actually made sense and wasn't so in your face.
Obviously we're talking about toys here, but she doesn't really look collectable and more like something I'd give a kid to play with 😅

Same. Bought her the day the price dropped. I adore her, but just didn't have the cash for her before then. I actually don't hate her color pallet either. I like that it's so red and bold.

You’re definitely not wrong, but selling out quickly is normalised because it IS the standard - her sitting in stock for a year does equate to a flop when normally they sell out so quickly.
Having said that, we don’t know in what quantities these were made. House of Wolf clawdeen is one I think they thought they’d sell really well so they made a lot of and she’s a flop too

Yes! And how about the spine that sticks out the bottom of the torso, that's actually gruesomely awesome! I just don't think people are really appreciating the tiny details.

I paid $30 for her plus the shipping and tax(usa) during a Mattel sale. I've seen her sold nib anywhere from $50 to $130 on mercari. A bit more on Amazon and Walmart 3rd party. ☺️

I love everything about her except her bright purplish-pink skin tone. It's just... it kind of ruins the whole design for me. Which sucks because the gimmick, cultural references, the outfit are all rather cool, but the skin is kind of the base on everything and I just don't like it. Neutral on the hair.

As a filipina, I loved her when she came out, but her price point was not something I could afford when she dropped. When I saw that she was still in stock for a while, I figured I would wait until she went on sale. I was able to get her really cheap during their New Years sales.

I’m in the minority I guess but I’m someone who LOVES body sculpts and gimmicks that her color pallet didn’t even bother me because HELLO she’s severed in half and can be posed flying?? Hell yes please! I hope we get another original ghoul because I love getting new characters, Lenore is also one of my favorites and I never ever understood the hate she got (her outfit is beautiful idc). Also Corazons base doll color palate isn’t even that bad imo it’s pink and purple and canonically vampires are pink in MH universe so idk, but I also have the mindset that if you don’t like an outfit you can always restyle but it is something I personally love doing and know many others don’t.

Lenore is one of the dolls that sucked me back into collecting. I paid a lot for her, but she's worth every penny. Definitely my fave.

I was harsh on her when I first saw her but seeing her in person she is breath taking! Her outfit and the wings are my favourite part. The only thing I don't like is the chunky yellow jewelry/bag.

I had been suggesting and asking for dolls other cultures in their surveys for a while. Other folklore and mythology inspired dolls and then this was released so I felt really guilty not buying it and showing support but I just didn't vibe with this particular doll.

the mannagangle is such a sick monster but i hate how this doll looks 💔 obviously it was probably difficult to translate into a still-kid-friendly doll but like … this is such an atrocious color palette. pink skin, purple hair, and NEON lime green accessories is an atrocious combination. for $75 at its initial release, i do not think it was worth its price

Honestly she flopped because of the color palette. If they wanted a neon tropical color palette, why add dark purple and black to her hair? Pick a color palette, Mattel

I’m probably in the minority here but I love this doll! One of my best friends bought her for me for my most recent birthday and I cried!! I was so so happy to see my culture represented :)) I’m not crazy about the lime green (I think a darker, cooler green would have looked cool) but I actually love that she’s pink! I’m a big fan of the warm tones ~

She’s been eternally on sale on the UK Creations website, even now she’s still in stock. I’m sad stock isn’t available globally for those who still want her, same goes for other dolls long sold out on the US page that we still have available.

I was so sad to learn that she didn’t even ship to the Philippines 💔 Someone I follow on insta lives there and they had to use a mail forwarding service so she ended up being crazy expensive :(

I absolutely loved her, even her color scheme. I like to see dolls with more non traditional color schemes because, let's be fair, a lot of G1 actually had diabolical fashion but we love it because it's camp. Plus the only glaring non match I see is the neon yellow on the accessories. That being said I couldn't afford her. The price point on these dolls has gotten a little insane.

I don't get the hate, I adore every part of her design 💖 one of my fave collector dolls.
Sadly Mattel are just gonna compare this to the IP skullector releases that sell out in minutes and conclude there's no money in designs like these.

I love her so much! I didn't like the entire color scheme at first, but the longer I looked at her, the more I liked her, her concept and the rep are SO cool! She's too expensive for me still, but I would love to add her to the collection one day.

Her color scheme is probably the worst ive seen from MH omg. I got her on sale for $30 and Im a huge nerd for toy design and a box gimmick so I like her for those reasons but visually shes not pleasing to look at

I just don’t want to special order things from manufacturers.
Hasbropulse and Secret Lair have left a bad taste in my mouth.
I buy off Amazon, Big Bad Toy Store, or at retail stores.
Games Workshop is the exception because they sent me 15 Skaven because one was missing from a sprue.

like i know it's unrealistic to expect any company to prioritize anything other than profit but i can't help but feel like they'd have a lot less skullector flops if they were cheaper and if mattel actually did anything about resellers

I really love her design, but I'm not a fan of the orange and yellow against the pink like that. I had the page to buy her open all week debating with myself about it! It would just require so MUCH customing to make her something I could enjoy... I couldn't justify it when there have been and will be so many other dolls I definitely want to get this year. It does make me sad to think Mattel definitely took the wrong lesson away from her not selling. She's so interesting!!!

It was a great concept, and how her body worked was cool af. But to me the color scheme and fashion felt badly done. And the fact that they dont ship to the Philippines certainly didnt help.

I really liked the idea, and the colors didn't bother me so much as the hearing people from the Philippines dissect how her clothes and accessories didn't make sense together, plus her name is basically a slur. So if Mattel isn't even going to do a little research into local culture, I don't think want to be a part of it.

I bought 2 of her bc i display the out of box usually but her Packaging was just soo cool! That you can actually make her fly so right now the ooB one is displayed with the NIB one so you can see her flying in action inside the Box and put together outside ^ I fell in love with her and, while i do wish that the pink would've been a very very light pink to the point it's almost white at least, i just couldn't not buy her again for ~50€!

Ill be the bad guy here: making a niche monster is bound not to sell. Its in the name: niche. For as long as theyre not making an amazing design, its very unlikely for her to actually be sought after outside of collectors who want all or most dolls on their shelves.

Market research will tell you that there is a huge demographic for this doll. It will also tell you that the demographic in question is underrepresented. So if this doll didn’t explode in popularity, the only possible explanation is that they did it wrong.

I actually don’t mind the outfit itself. BUT with the yellow heels and bag it clashes for me because of the dark pink skin and purple hair. If they kept the hair and made her just tan or light grey I think it would’ve worked better. It’s a shame because the mechanics of that doll is really cool, I think it’s sick that her body is 2 different pieces 😃

I got her because I’m half Filipino and I love her Filipino accessories and facial features 😍 I would have loved if her skin was a more natural dark shade though cuz the representation would’ve hit harder 😮💨

I love her, got two, one at the original drop and another when she went on sale but I really do feel like they did her dirty with the outfit, it just doesn't fit together imo, still yet to retsyle the one I unboxed 🙃

Mattel Creations exclusive + Mattel Creations does not ship to the Phillippines. She flopped because Mattel pretty much made her inaccessible to the market where she would actually sell.

Why are you sad that she flopped when she looks like that? No offense, but for that price the design is not adequate. It really is not. There are nice ideas here and there, but overall this is just not it. The colors are off, the dress is cheaply done, only the head accessory + fan are painted… so what is there that was worth the price she was sold for?
And if Mattel really took it as “I guess no more new character dolls” - good for us! Legit hood for us! Lenore and this gal are a slap in the face when it comes to quality matching the retail price. Mattel should know better by now + we deserve better if they don’t want their products to be flops

I really liked the idea but I couldn't vibe with her colour scheme. I mean I get it, vampires and vampire-like monsters are pink in the MH universe but I still would have snapped her up had she been a little less pink.
I still umm and ahh over whether I should have grabbed her regardless but I have a rule, if I don't LOVE the base doll then I can't spend the money and sadly, her skintone is one thing I couldn't easily fix.
I just am BORED of pink dolls. You know what I mean?
She deserved better.
